Need a bit of work
These are lovely pens but they had quite a lot of feedback and I took the time to use an old mail file to smooth their nib. Now they write wonderfully. Not a whole lot to do to have a beautiful writing instrument. If you find yourself with a pen that scratch do spend a couple of seconds drawing 10-20 figure 8 on an old file and try them out again (repeat as needed). It does make a world of a difference.

You get what you pay for, not in a good way.
Ok so I knew the jinhao 992 has a bad reputation, and to be honest it is deserved. Took a look at the blue one first to find the tines weren’t cut all the way up, and there was no breather hole cut through. Had trouble filling it and that is probably why.Tried the clear one next, and it has turned out to be the best of the bunch- I’ve used a full converter of ink through it at work and it writes well. The green one was next, this had a very dry feel to it even with notoriously wet inks. Unscrewing the feed from the section reveals that the ink channel is so badly formed that it is useless. The orange one was found to be the same, I haven’t inked the grey or brown yet but the feeds seem properly formed on those- the nib is loose in the brown though. So I’ve basically got two and a half working pens, to be honest I did approach them in the mindset that even if only a couple worked then I’ve got a couple of decent looking pens for twelve quid. I can at least change the colours around if I want...If you want some cheap Chinese fountains then take a look at the wing sung 3008 instead, greater ink capacity and out of the four of those I have, 3 are a joy to use and one is a bit naughty from time to time..

Nice set of pens
All the pens I this set are of great value . Smooth nibs and writes well. Fine pen all around. A few pen needs slight adjustments to write smoothly. Anice check on some good surface papers for testing your writings. Good time spent on slight adjustment witless reward well.

Great for scribbling and note taking!
I use these as rough note-taking pens, I cannot fault them at all. The glide on normal paper. They are a little scratchy on 90gsm paper, they become like a fine nib as well but on 80 or less they are great. They haven't missed a line and are much better than I expected. I was replacing some old pens I use for taking notes etc and general work (I have best pens for finished notes and letters etc). A great set and great for the price as well!

Five out of six
One of the pens doesn't work at all - haven't had time to potch with it yet - but the rest are great. They put a lot of ink on the page (which I like) and need refilling quite often. I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality which I didn't expect to be high for the price. Fingers crossed that they don't fall apart within the year.

Good purchase
Cheap, but good- well, one pen is not writing at all, but the others do so very well, so overall at this price, I am happy with my purchase. The writing is smooth and I am truly surprised that at this price one can get good quality. Recommend.

nibs keep falling out and ink stains
Unfortunately, as some other reviews have said the nibs are constantly falling out of the pens and you have to keep pushing them back into position. Not only that but every time i wrote with the fountain pens i would get ink stains on my fingers. I would not recommend, i ended up buying another fountain pen from somewhere else.
