Haven't tried under water yet. Only good for 2.5 inches depth.

Not as sensitive as it implies
The description says sensitive to 4.5 inches but I heard my wife’s ear ring up to it and it didn’t register at all. Even a quarter has to be about an inch away to detect it. The larger the object the farther you can go but even a large metal bed was detected 3 inches away at best. I bought it to help find a lost ear ring, but it’s worthless for that use.
