Worked great.
Colonization and growth went smoothly, great kit.

Cannot get spores
I received the substrate bag (which appears wonderful) but I cannot get any spores thru the QR code provided. Great product but I cannot utilize it until I can get my hands on some spores. Slight bummer

Growing bag with medium only. Must pay S&H to obtain spores from their website.
I've always wanted to try growing my own mushrooms, so I was excited about getting this Klear Magic "Complete Cultivation Kit with Live Cultures." Sadly, the kit as it arrived isn't as complete as I expected. What is in the bag:* A plastic grow bag containing growing medium* Postcard with code, redeemable on their website for one syringe of Klear Magic mushroom spoors. "Just pay shipping and handling."What isn't in the bag:* Instructions* Syringe with sporesWhen I opened the package, the first thing I looked for was instructions. The grow bag was tightly rolled in a protective cover, so I thought the instructions (and syringe) must be inside the folds. They weren't. What I didn't realize at the time - because I didn't have the instructions! - was that I was supposed to be protected like a surgeon to handle the grow bag: gown, sterile gloves, N95 mask, freshly laundered clothes, etc. Now I'm afraid that I might have contaminated the bag. As for the instructions, it turns out that they are only available digitally on their website, via a QR code on the outer packaging.Nowhere in the product description did it mention needing to order the live cultures separately from their website and pay shipping and handling. It stated, "open [sic] ordering, you'll receive your choice of Pink Oyster, Blue Oyster, or White Button Mushroom Live Cultures in a KLEAR Magic syringe." I interpreted this as having the option to choose between three cultures upon opening the order, not providing personal and financial information just to pay S&H for something seemingly included in the kit. While I'm a gardening novice when it comes to mushrooms, the grow bag and its surprisingly heavy medium appear to be of good quality. The resealable outer packaging is also quite attractive. While this might be a decent mushroom grow bag in its own right, it falls short of the "complete cultivation kit" claim if the essential spores require a separate order from their website.Overall, it feels like the kit's description could be clearer about spore availability and additional costs. While the materials seem decent, labeling it as a "complete" kit is misleading.

Work fine
It's a bag of sterilized substrate suitable for growing mushrooms, I think it's mostly meant for the magic variety but it grew oysters just fine. You need to order your own spores to inoculate.

NOT complete! UPDATE 3
UPDATE 3:I have given the substrate ALL of the spores. I first inoculated the bag on 2/25/24 and at 5/17/24, after a full 82 days in a toasty, dark environment, I am throwing in the towel on this crummy experiment. I give up. It's useless. Next time I want to spend $50 for zero mushrooms, I will light two twenties and a ten on fire for a more enjoyable experience. BAD kit. Do not buy.UPDATE 2:21 days after inoculation, there is no activity at all in my mushroom grow bag, which has been kept in a toasty, 75 degree + cupboard next to my fridge. I gave it darkness and warmth and I haveabagofdirtandoatsThis product is beyond infuriating. I would love to give it ZERO stars.UPDATE 1:I ordered the spores and when they arrived 17 days later I had no idea what this HUGE box from KLEAR could be - it came in a 12"x10"x5" box that was light as air and when I opened it and removed the crinkled brown paper packing, it was just a huge hypodermic needle with no note of explanation, instructions, nothing. At first, I thought I'd been scammed but I ran a search on my emails and it jogged my memory that KLEAR was the company for the mushrooms. I went online and checked out the woefully weird instructions. Instruction detail pic is attached. Yep, those charts and examples would be really helpful, folks.I inoculated my bag, and put it in a dark, temp-controlled place for the next 1-2 weeks. I'll update if/when mushrooms start coming.Again, this is NOT a complete kit. In the instructions, it references a heating pad and a growing bucket. And if the spores are not included under the assumption that they need to be kept fresh - they came in a cardboard box - no temperature regulation whatsoever.********************ORIGINAL REVIEW:This is sold as a complete kit, with "all you need" to grow up to three generations of mushrooms of your choice (button, blue oyster or pink oyster). It comes with a grow bag, the substrate dirt, oats aaaaaaand - no spores. There is a postcard with a website listed (or QR code to scan) to get your "free" spores - BUT you have to pay additional shipping. If you're spending the dough for a complete kit, it should be complete. If spores should be sent separately for freshness' sake, then fine, send them separately, but put it in the description that you're going to charge an extra shipping fee to get them so people will know. And be transparent about the shipping time for the spores - there will be a substantial additional delay after one receives the kit before the spores can come, so people need to know that. And finally, for the love of Pete, just don't charge any shipping charge. It's nominal but off-putting. The cost of the kit is sufficient to cover the mushroom shipping, too - and if it's not, raise the up-front cost two bucks to cover the shipping cost.
