Long read but please read it! 2005 Trailblazer EXT.
Replacement headlight assemblies for my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer EXT. Old ones were completely shot! They were so sun damaged, yellow and cloudy that a Zippo lighter on my bumper would provide more light on the road than the headlights did. FYI, don't bother trying all those supposed "Headlight restorer" gimmicks because they don't work. Even following YouTube videos on wet sanding and clear coating blah blah blah also don't work. All it does is get the yellow chalky stuff off but you end up with somewhat clearer lenses but blurry which diffuses the light all over the place vs. directing the light. For this price, save your money and time messing around and just throw away the old ones and put these in and you're done! The other reason I'm replacing them is because the old ones got damaged from repeatedly melting headlight connectors. Plagued me for years on this truck! I'll explain at the bottom of this review on why this happens and how to fix it for good. Now, as far as these replacements. They came to my house super fast, less than 48 hrs. They were packaged well with expanding foam, had protective film on the lenses and all holes that didn't come with bulbs were sealed (marker light & turn signal sockets). The passenger side replacement was PERFECT, not a single flaw. Bulbs were in place, plugged in ready to go and I was happy to see that the rubber covers behind the bulbs came with these. My originals were dry rotted and always fell off constantly, ended up in my glove box out of frustration. The drivers side had issues though. Soon as I pulled the protective film off the lens I noticed some scratches under it and cloudy spots. It wasn't a huge deal, it's a 14yr old Trailblazer not a show car. More disconcerting was that around the edge of the seal next to the marker light was a seal bulging out which should be inside. It appears upon assembly it slipped out as they were snapping it together. This likely would have caused a moisture leak and the housing would have build up condensation. Lastly, the low beam headlight was installed 180 degrees off. This made the connector face the wrong way so you couldn't get the bulb out without disconnecting the connector first. With millimeters of space to work with, let me tell you....this is not something you want to deal with once you have the housing in the truck. No reason to have to pull the grill and housing out completely just to change a bulb, that's not how these are designed. What it looks like is that the metal connector that you put your bulb in then turn it to lock it in was installed backwards. Again, probably not a big deal to fix. There are 3 screws that hold it in, it can likely be removed and turned although I haven't tried it yet. That said, before you decide to look elsewhere for a different vendor because of this I urge you not to. I called customer service and talked to Mathew. I explained my findings, he placed me on a brief hold and came back to tell me that they are sending me a replacement free of charge and I can just discard (or recycle) the defective one. Love how he threw in "recycle" as an alternative, just saying. LOL All I have to provide is pictures of my findings, not a problem. This is what I consider excellent customer service and standing behind their product, that's not as common as it should be these days. As an added bonus, their on hold music is great due to the humorous irony. They lyrics of the song say "Don't worry....everything is gonna be all right" and it was purposely done. I love companies with a sense of humor. That alone made me almost glad I had a problem.Bottom line, if you don't buy these you're an idiot. The cost of 2 low beam and 2 high beam bulbs which come with these would cost slightly less or much more depending on what you buy that the cost of 2 entire assemblies. Funny that the marker light and turn signal bulbs don't come with since they went that far since they are very inexpensive but hey, seriously who cares? I'm impressed the other bulbs were included. They are pre-aimed so you just pop these in and you are done, no more crappy cloudy yellow crusty lenses and fresh bulbs. What more can you ask?TIP: If you are one of those unfortunates like me who's had to replace the headlight connectors a bazillion times because they kept melting like SO MANY of the Trailblazers love to do. The fix isn't to keep replacing them. The fix is replacing the dash headlight switch. It's an unacknowledged defect by GM. Meaning they haven't yet done a recall which they should have. If they haven't by now they likely won't. For some reason, I don't know the exact cause but the switch causes too much resistance on the circuit. This causes the wires to heat up and the weakest point is the headlight connector with ends up melting. In some cases will cause your fuse to blow for the headlight but not always. You can buy connectors with ceramic ends as a band aid but the actual fix is switch replacement. It takes 10 minutes to pop it out and replace it. I feel lucky my truck never caught fire because of it. It makes me wonder how many have. Apparently not enough or not enough fatalities from it or GM would have done a recall, at least one would think?Since I don't have faith that GM fixed anything I'm personally going with an aftermarket brand switch by Standard Motor Products who have good reviews. It costs less than the GM or AC Delco part and a smaller company would tend to have better quality control. They are also here on Amazon. It's best once you get the old switch out to call them and give them the part number of the original to cross reference so you get the proper replacement. There were several different switches based on options the Trailblazers had. In this case don't guess or rely on pictures in the ads that you'll get the right one. It's a phone call that will be well worth your time. I hope this information helps someone out there. When I do the swap to the new housings I'm going to include some pretty pictures before and after =)UPDATE: I got my replacement, not only for the drivers side but they sent me a whole new pair. Unnecessary for them to do that but it proves that they stand behind their product and care about customer service. I'll keep the others for a spare or if I see someone with a Trailblazer suffering from yellow eye I'll give them to them. The replacement set was flawless. I installed them and they look stunning! I can see at night again! I did decide to take the plunge and go with LED bulbs instead. Awesome awesome awesome!

Get these if you're in the market
They are just like the original lights...easy to install once you are able to unclip your front grill...you should be able to finish the job within an hour...this improves your vehicle look compared to trying to restore the lenses with a restoration product...its pretty much plug and play note that you have to twist out the signal bulb and side marker bulb on your old unit and install them in the new unit because the until does not include this

Arrived as discribed. Good fit and finish, easy to install, HOWEVER...
Arrived as discribed, well packaged, Good fit and finish, easy to install, HOWEVER... lowbeam bulbs that came with the set failed within 3 months. Upon attempting to change the bulb, found them very difficult to change. Turns out the retaining ring had been installed upside down making it virtually impossible to remove the bulb as designed, I had to completly remove the light assembly from the car, then disassemble the bulb retaining ring, flip that part part to remove and replace the bulb.I didn't think to change check the high beam as I was out of time and patience and high beam has not burned out yet.

This pair of headlights looked great at first but were very disappointing on closer inspection.
First off, Im satisfied. These were inexpensive considering the alternatives and they really freshen up the front end of our Trailblazer. However the fit isn't OE perfect. The vent tubes for example are smaller, the factory rubber vents are too big. I don't know if this will matter but I would like to have a larger vent to keep moisture from building up. But would I buy them again? Absolutely. (EDITED - NOT REALLY, SEE BELOW)These headlights look great at first but after a few months the relationship revealed that they are lacking in one key area, namely shining light in front of my Trailblazer when its dark outside.I should have known better. Long story short after ONLY 5 MONTHS the headlights stopped working, first the left then the right. High beams worked, no low beams. When I reached in to pull out the bulb to check it the light came on when I wiggled the connector. This worked for about a week on both sides and then boom, nothing, nada. Which can be a problem when driving in the dark. When I pulled out the headlights to look at what I thought might be loose connections I found melted connectors! The connector and part of the insulation totally melted on one side and part of the connector melted on the other. Heat in an electrical connection comes from resistance. Resistance which was caused by a poor connection stemming from sub par manufacturing. The end result was frustration and criticism from my in-laws about being a mechanic who can't fix things. There is probably a bitter divorcee in Taiwan who thought they could pass their bad luck along to another but not today buddy boy, not TODAY! I had saved the original headlights which had the connectors I needed so I was able to cut and splice them in which in turn saved my marriage. Funny, the original ones lasted for 10+ years without melting or deforming at all. Don't fall for the allure of these big, shiny new headlights. They will end up letting you down when you need it them most.

quality and delivery second to none
excellent quality and they look great on my 2006 Trailblazer. Only issue which is only slight, is that they had to be adjusted slightly to be even one was higher that the other, but that is totally minor compared to the outstanding uality and appearance given to my vehicle.Thank you ever so muchSEMPER=FI
