| Special Feature | Once the rockwool cubes are saturated, gently squeeze out excess water, leaving them damp but not dripping wet. Create small holes or depressions in the top of the cube. The depth of the hole should be about twice the diameter of the seed you’re planting. Place 2 seeds in each hole to ensure germination, then gently cover the seed with the surrounding rockwool. Make sure the seed is in contact with the moist rockwool., You can use a seedling heat mat under the tray to maintain a consistent temperature, as some plants prefer a slightly warmer environment during germination. Keep moisture levels inside your tray consistently moist but not waterlogged. You can use a spray bottle to mist them if necessary. Monitor the progress of your seeds, and be patient as germination times can vary depending on the type of seeds you’re growing., Place the cubes in a nursery tray and cover with a humidity dome to seal in the moisture. Keep at 70-80°. Keep the rockwool cubes moist by watering them lightly every couple of days or using a spray bottle when they start to dry out. Remove from the humidity dome and place under a light as soon as the seeds sprout., Place the seeded rockwool cubes in a tray or container, keeping them together for easy handling. If you have a plastic dome or plastic wrap, you can use it to create a mini-greenhouse effect to maintain humidity. This helps seeds germinate faster. lace the tray with the rockwool cubes in a warm, well-lit area For best results, place tray under grow lights or in a greenhouse. Seeds require warmth and light for germination. |
