Effective - Pricey
I generally use one of the top brands of wood glue, TiteBond II or Gorilla Glue. This Stanley PVA glue works just as well in my experience; it may be better, but it is more expensive. It is thinner, so vertical applications are more of a challenge. I like that it dries fast and is waterproof. It dries white, so cleanup before it dries is crucial. If not for the price (a few dollars more), I'd buy this again. Or, if I needed an unusually strong bond I may try this again.

Great product!
Great wood glue! This glue can be used not only on wood, but other crafts as well. Haven't tested it with water-resistance though. Seems to work just like other wood glue and would buy again!

Used it to seal some splintering
I had gotten some standard 12x12 basswood craft sheets. I used a saw that has wide teeth and ofc it caused some splintering. Since I live in an apt, I don't exactly have the room to have a bansaw and the saw on my little rotary tool was literally taking hours. It just made more sense to cut it quickly with the saw and deal with the consequences. I do think this is holding the splintering bits at bay. I ofc sanded it first. I do wish I had stained it before using this as the waterproofness will likely make it not soak in color the same there. This was my first craft wood project. I got the big bottle because I tend to keep making things with the craft sheets. It did start curing about a minute or two after I started brushing the glue onto the edges. I think if you used clamps and let it dry it would create a really good seal. I've used wood glue in the past but don't really remember it. I feel like this one is slightly more viscous in a good way. I do think it has an odor when you use it. I didn't notice it until I walked out and into the room again. I don't know that it's dangerous, but maybe crank up the air purifier, open a window, or just do it outside. The current price is $12.74 for 13.5 oz. The container seems to seal well as well. There is a stopper you have to take out in order to use it. You could always replace the stopper after using, to ensure that your glue stays fresh and air free.

Works. Smells funny, though, and bad nozzle design
I have been using this wood glue for a while now, and it is a fully acceptable glue. Like other PVA glues, it is strong--stronger than the wood, generally. The viscosity is just about right for carpentry projects...liquid enough to get into the cracks, but thick enough that it doesn't immediately drip out of joints.I kind of like the bottle. It has a tip that I bet works well. I say "I bet" because I'm super paranoid about glue drying in the trip of a bottle. This bottle has a little plastic insert that keeps the glue down during shipping. I put it in place at the end of every use...I don't actually use the tip they include. Well, I haven't yet.Are there any downsides to this glue. Yes. They are really small and maybe even personal:1. This glue is white. Usually you know it's meant for woodworking because it's yellow. White glue seems like it's for arts and crafts to me. I know the yellow is just a dye, but still...I want my yellow glue.2. This glue stinks. Only when it is wet, of course. But it's still surprising. Most of the time, PVA glue smells clean and maybe even sweet, but this smells like some gross chemical.Ok, the way a glue smells, and its color are very minor concerns, I understand. For that reason, I'm still giving it 5 stars. Still, next time I buy wood glue, I'm going for the yellow stuff that smells better.====== EDIT ==========I've been using this glue for a while now and the top has stopped working. When you twist it, the little circular thing doesn't go down and glue doesn't come out. That's a very poor design. Between the terrible top and the bad smell, I'm going to have to mark this down a star. I mean, it glues things, but I will never buy this brand again.

It works-doesn't expand
I gave this glue the best wood test I can think of. I took two scraps of wood, didn't prep them at all just glued and clamped. When the glue cured I took a hammer and broke the wood. Where I hit, the wood split but the seam was intact. This tells me good glue!! Lower quality glue would have split right at the seam but this stuff stuck and the wood gave away. Other observations, it is white and when it dries it will still be white. It does not cure clear. But it will also not expand like some other types of glue. So once you apply what you see is what you will end up with. Finally there is a plug in the bottle that is a pain to take out but the plug was nice so I knew my glue was fresh. If you're looking for non expanding glue that is easy to work with and works good, this will do! I hope this was helpful.

not impressed, moderately weak bonding strength
Looks like, and has the consistency of, school glue.No odor.Does not foam up any.Instructions are very poor -- No mention of cure time, no mention of working time, no mention of cleanup. Not impressed with adhesion strength. Instructions say to "shake the bottle" before use, so I did that more than adequately. But to be honest, if your glue is so thin that you can shake it, I mean really... how likely is it that it's going to impress you?My test for all of these "wood" or "construction" glues is to glue together two wood blocks with an overlapping 3/4in area, clamp together for 24 hours, then see how hard it to a break that 3/4in glued area apart. See photo. This glue did have some strength, but nothing impressive at all. Since it had some strength, I will give it the 1 extra star, therefore 2 -Stars rating.Any decent wood glue would have done as-good-or-better. But none of these new Stanley glues in a bottle have had any decent bonding strength, and I have tested a bunch of them. Very disappointed with their entire lineup of glues-in-a-bottle.So in conclusion, this stuff is not completely useless but there is zero reason to buy it in my opinion. It's neither cheap nor particularly effective. So why choose this? PASS. Would not re-order.
