Should have come with the machine
Worked great and seems well made. This should have been the portafilter that came with the machine instead of the one with plastic parts.

Exceptional Customer Service of CASABREWS
The quality of portafilter is high! Finally no plastic or resin…! I’m more than satisfied. But unfortunately my set didn’t have 1 shot filter basket as in description. I’ve contacted with manufacturer and decided to return item. But I’ve got response within hours and they solved the issue immediately. True customer service! My respect!

Jury is still out on this one... UPDATE Casabrews Made it Right! :)
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: While I did have an issue with this portafilter, and it occurred in both the original and replacement set, Casabrews did in fact reach out to me and they made it right with me, so I will say that it is at least safe to give this a try. Maybe I just had really bad luck and had two bad sets. I will say the company truly stands behind their brand and product and they have my trust. :)I received this portafilter today to use in my new Casabrews espresso machine. My initial thought on it was it looks to be high quality, seems more sturdy than the one that came with the machine, and looks to be well made. I was looking forward to giving it a try for sure. I placed the baskets in it one by one, checking for fit, and was initially surprised at how loose they feel inside the portafilter.I have a bottomless portafilter by another brand with a similar spring lock system, and that one is actually a bit hard to remove. But it's bottomless, so it makes sense, as you can just push it up from the bottom to remove it, and this one, for obvious reasons, you cannot do that, so I guess it will feel a bit looser in order to be removable, I figured. Okay, that seems like it makes sense, so I move on.I hand wash all the pieces and get them ready for their first use. I attach the single cup basket, and attach the portafilter to the group head to just run empty with water and give it a good hot rinse and check for fit. It fits snugly. Almost too snugly maybe. It requires a bit more effort to lock in than my other portafilters. I remove it, make sure the basket is fully seated, and try again. I still feel a bit of resistance, but nothing too crazy, so I assume it's just meant to feel this way.I run the 1 cup cycle through the empty portafilter and basket into a cup to both preheat the machine and rinse the portafilter. Water runs through seemingly without issue, and I smile. I go to remove the portafilter from the group head, and look down to see there is no basket in it. Did I absentmindedly run it without the basket? I look around on my counterspace and I don't see it. Am I losing my mind? Where did it go?I decide to look at the group head, and lo and behold! There is the basket, hanging there as if by magic, stuck firmly to the group head. I go to grab it, but it's hot, so I grab a paper towel and use that to grab hold of it, and it comes loose, pretty easily really. But it's weird that it just stuck there like that. It's not like it had too much coffee or anything, I ran it empty. Weird. I shrug and figure it must just be some weird crazy freak fluke thing, and I dry off all the pieces, and start grinding my coffee to pull a shot. After getting my coffee at the perfect grind, using my WDT, distributer, and tamp tool to get it all set, I place my ultrathin puck screen on top, and note that it is all sitting level just below the max line. Perfect. I attach the portafilter to the group head, and again, feel resistance there. I look at my basket again, ensuring that it's all properly tamped down and below the line, and confirm that it is. It must just be a bit tighter fitting than I'm used to, so I go ahead and attach it, place my cup below, and press 1 cup.It makes a beautiful looking cup of espresso. Lots of nice crema, looks great, tastes great. I'm thinking, okay, this can definitely work while I work on mastering the bottomless variety (I'm not a huge fan of the pressurized baskets personally, but I'm still learning, so these are like my training wheels until I'm ready to fully take them off). I set my espresso cup down on the counter, and go to remove the portafilter so I can begin working on another cup for a friend.Once again, the portafilter is empty. Where is the basket? You guessed it, it is hanging there on the group head. It must be creating some sort of suction at the end of the cycle that is causing a slight vaccuum inside the basket. And it isn't a strong seal, it is very easily removed by grasping with a paper towel or just giving it the slightest wiggle, but it is surprising that even filled with grounds and a nicely compressed puck, the extra bit of weight there isn't causing it to come loose with the portafilter.I still don't completely understand why this is happening or if I'm just doing something wrong, but it seems like I'm doing things correctly and same as I do with my other portafilters, and none of them are getting the baskets stuck to the group head. They all come loose when removing the portafilter. It's only this one that they are getting stuck with. I don't get it.I love the apparent quality of this portafilter, but I am unsure about its overall performance, as both times I've run this in the machine, the basket has become attached to the group head, and I worry about it being too tight of a fit and maybe damaging my unit. I may end up having to return this one sadly. I wanted to love it.I'm going to give it a few more tries and see if maybe it adapts or I adapt or whatever needs done to make this thing work, but I'm worried those attempts may be in vain. Thanks for reading my rambles. Hopefully this review is helpful or even better hopefully it prompts a response from someone, the manufacturer or maybe even another user who has some advice for me to make this work. =DOn further inspection, it isn't a vacuum seal, it almost feels magnetized to the group head some how. I can just place it there, and it sticks all on its own. It's only the single cup size one that does this, and only the one that came with this portafilter. ??? Returning... Seems like a defect. :(Update: I was sent a replacement and it did the same thing. Clearly not a defect in the one unit but just poorly designed product. Returning the replacement as well I guess. Very sad. I love the portafiltet itself. The baskets are terrible though. :( video attached showing both original and replacement basket sticking to group head when I just place it on by hand.

Works as it should. Good upgrade.
Bought this to upgrade the one that came with my casabrews machine. I don’t like plastic parts so wanted this one with stainless steel parts. I wish this just came with the machine to begin with or there was a choice to upgrade because now I have an extra one I don’t need. I do like this upgraded one much better. Works as it should.

Filter basket Gets stuck to group head all the time -- Updated
I am using this with CM5418 wanted to, got it to replace one that came with original that has plastic.I used it for few days to make sure I get used to using it.First annoying issue is the portal filter basket gets stuck on the group head for every shot, for me I have to apply significant force to pull it out.Secondary issue this does not work with puck screen for me; same puck screens just work fine in portable that came with CM5418.The filter basket definitely is smaller than one that came with the CM5418 machine, it’s a shame i cannot switch it due to the design difference. I will probably return it.Update on 3/13/2025: The Casabrew support reached out to me and offered an replacement. The replacement is not getting stuck anymore, given the clearance in the design I still cannot use the puck screen but that is not a deal breaker for me, I am happy with the replacement.

Not as good as the original
I wanted so much to like this filter holder, because it has no plastic, but the results from using it are less than stellar. It has a great heft to it, and it feels very professional, but the coffee comes out watery, and not as creamy as the original that came with the machine. I returned it, and keep using the original that came with the machine.
