Used LM Gear oil on my 122K 2006 M5. There was the initial gear chatter on tight turns, but it went away after proper break in per BMW Technical Bulletin. Over 800 miles and the chatter has not come back. The built in spout on the .500ml bottles works perfectly and allows the oil to be poured straight into the diff fill hole without using a pump.

Not 100% for M cars, but a cheap alternative if you do some work
Put in my E60 M5 rear diff, and I got "the groan" that these M cars are notorious for, which was not there with the BMW 83222282583 fluid, with the FM. So this does not just work as well as the BMW stuff, at least in the //M LSD applications. Will try some friction modifier to see if it goes away.Edit:Tried Redline 80301 Friction Modifier. Started with 1oz for 1.5L, and worked up to 4oz. Once I got to 4oz the groan was gone, but the LSD still locks up like you want it to when needed. So I'm happy and saved about $100 over the BMW OEM fluid.

Good, but Expensive
It's good, but...... it's insanely expensive. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than happy with the quality here. I hear no noise whatsoever from a differential with over 200K on it, but I can't get past the price. Apparently this one sold on Amazon is actually below MSRP... at NAPA, they're selling these for almost $50 a liter!!!!
