U.S. Presidents Volume 1: George Washington & John Adams

Fact-Packed and Super Impotant
I ordered volume 1 of the PragerU presidents' series because I would eventually like to own all of them and wanted to start at the beginning with Washington and Adams. Having an easy-to-understand reference for kids that covers our nation's presidents is an outstanding undertaking, and I have nothing but respect for this organization that took it upon themselves to make sure it is done. It is amazing that PragerU offers this as a free resource if you want to download it and print it at your own expense. For me, it saves ink from my printer to order it already put together. I'm thoroughly satisfied with this volume and can't wait to collect the entire series. Here is what I love about the Washington and Adams volume: It is packed full of facts. It reminds me of a Scholastic magazine with its colorful images and easy-to-read format. I am getting it to have on hand for my family, but this would also be good for a teacher to have on hand in a classroom. I learned that Washington was unanimously elected, not just once, but twice, and then stepped down. Washington was a man of honor, and I long for our nation's presidents to be again of this caliber. A high order indeed. Adams is another remarkable man whom our modern-day politicians would do well to take a cue from. He and his wife, Abigail, have a truly inspiring story.I recommend this magazine for kids in grades five and up. Little ones would enjoy looking at the pictures, but the reading level is intended for a strong reader, not a beginning or emerging one. Fun games and fill-in-the-blanks are included to keep kids entertained and engaged. Also, there is a show on PragerU's Kids website called Guess or Mess that ties into the magazine's content—each show corresponds to the magazine. It's a very fun way to test your kiddo's understanding!

Great quality & educationally-dense
The media could not be loaded. Complete & engaging information about two of America’s founding fathers. Good quality pages (not too thin, not too thick), great images to keep it interesting (my kids aren’t really into history but this is engaging to keep them from complaining. Includes games (crosswords, fill in), info about women who influenced their lives. Great for teaching “boring history” — fun facts with historical info make is palatable for kids.

Highly recommended for both personal enjoyment and educational use!
This book offers great overview of the lives and presidencies of George Washington and John Adams, making it a great addition to both personal and educational libraries. One of the standout features of this book is its balanced approach. It presents both the achievements and challenges faced by Washington and Adams, providing a well-rounded view of their leadership and the early years of the American republic. These visuals are particularly useful for younger readers + visual learners who benefit from seeing historical artifacts and images. This is also a practical tool for educators; the structure makes it easy to integrate into lesson plans or use as a supplementary resource in classrooms.

Super informative and captivating
These presidential booklets really pack a punch of information in a very digestible format for kids (of all ages). This book contains loads of great information on both George Washington and John Adams, but it also has a lot of great interactive elements to it as well. There are introductions to each president, puzzles, interesting facts, snapshots of their lives as kids and adults, short stories about their accomplishments, quotes, and important addresses they made. This would be an incredible tool for a child doing a report, but more importantly, the way this book was written and formatted really helps kids actually retain the information. For even more added fun AND help with challenging your kiddos' to a contest, you can find a gameshow called Guess or Mess that coincides with these books (found on PragerUKids or YouTube). They are a fun way to test your knowledge after reading about each President.

Perfect to help teach elementary schoolers about Washington & Adams
The media could not be loaded. This book is aimed at 3rd-5th graders, but I think even adults can learn a lot from it! Covering the biographies of the first two US Presidents - Washington & Adams, this book covers both men’s upbringings, military careers, political careers, and legacies. There is so much good information packed into a book that isn’t too long or difficult to read. It also has fun activities throughout to further engage young readers. I also appreciate that all sources are listed. This is definitely a great tool to help teach elementary school kids about these historical figures.
