works great so far, caused no loss of quality when put in between xbox and screen and allows for good options of sound to add to my setup

Great product. Worked great and easy to use. Had 8k hdmi cables already to hookup. No loss in picture quality. I would recommend if input options are limited or if your tv doesn't support optical hookup.

This unit has worked really well. The only thing I wish that would have been better is the interface between Samsungs system and the unit. It needs to be made compatible with the all in one remote system. I cant control the volume with the tv remote or the Amazon Fire TV remote. The only way to control the volume is with he sound bar remote. So I have to have 3 remotes to control everything. Compared to my older TV that used the optical audio interface the hdmi return system is lacking. As far as the the device is concerned it has been good. I have had in in service for a month or so and it had been operating perfectly. The sound quality is great.

Can confirm that it will indeed pass 4K@120Hz, with no noticeable latency insertion. However, the EDID configurability (my main interest in this item) is poorly implemented: the DIP switches are recessed into the housing, and the hole around them is too small to manipulate them easily. Just 1 mm of clearance at the top and bottom to get a tool in there, or better yet about 0.5 mm protrusion so they could be flicked with a finger, would make this a terrific product. The table in the manual "explaining" the switch positions is also poor, unless I'm the only one who can't decipher the difference between "FRL 12G_8K_HDR" and "FRL 10G_8K_HDR", so it took a little trial & error to get what I wanted.Fortunately, for most users this will be a set-once-and-forget operation, so you can find something very thin like a SIM ejector pin and never have to think about it again, but you'll definitely curse it during that initial setup.Once configured, this worked well to connect an XBox Series X (which doesn't have an S/PDIF out port, in contrast to all three previous XBox generations, and is ridiculously finicky about EDID matching with no user overrides) to a 4K projector. The projector itself doesn't support surround sound (do any?), so I have to spoof a Dolby or DTS-capable EDID to get the XBox to output a 5.1 or 7.1 audio signal to split off to a receiver or soundbar.

My goal was to be able to play my Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch on the monitor in my home studio and feed the audio into my Audient id24 via the optical SPDIF input so the sound would come through my Yamaha HS8s. I was expecting to have to finagle with it, but I plugged everything in and it worked perfectly! I hope it works this seamlessly for everyone else.

I had to disconnect, reconnect, and power cycle it to recognize my devices. All the while I thought I was doing something wrong and going mad when it was the device itself.It did not pass the audio to the speakers from a soundbars output.

This HDMI splitter is built with obvious quality. My setup uses the HDMI video to my TV and the audio from the 3.5 mm audio jack to my pre-amp and then to my Bose audio system. The video is excellent and the audio is stellar! My only complaint is that the unit is too small to allow a FireTV stick to be connected to the HDMI IN and another HDMI cable to be connected to HDMI out at the same time. This was easily overcome using an HDMI male to female adaptor, however that shouldn't be necessary. But I'm not going to let this minor nuisance detract from such a high quality product that does what it's supposed to really well.

Was looking for a audio extractor that would work with my astro a40trs/mixamp and get 5.1 dolby on PS5 pro and still get 1440p 120hz and actually let me enable VRR and ALLM on PS5. This extractor worked out the box for me, glad I tried the Orei extractor out!
