Pack Pliers - Master Link Combo Pliers - Black with Black Bolt

I was trying to decide between this and a basic set of quick link pliers for half the price. But these have more than one function, and I've used the pliers and valve stem function several times already. Plus I've replaced the tire levers in my pack with this. What sealed the deal was thinking back on my last big mountain biking trip and knowing our group could have used this a couple of times instead of improvising something to remove the quick link on the trail (the string/cable trick was not happening on a stubborn one) and realizing that if I bought the typical set of quick link pliers I wouldn't have had them with me. These are surprisingly light and will be with me on all of my mountain biking trips. Nice job Wolf Tooth.

Small and light weight, almost too small for someone with large hands. Will magnetically hold 2 complete quick links for emergency repairs. I wouldn't use it as a tire lever, but you could in a pinch.

I found this tool to be very lightweight, added it to my tool bag, highly recommend

After having issues with a chain and master link, I finally broke down and bought this. It had been in my cart for awhile, but just never seemed necessary.It works well on 11 speed Shimano chains in my workshop. I have it in my pack now with a 12 speed Eagle link for my MTB. I like how it stores the link in the folded handle. Like all Wolf Tooth components, this will last a long time.

For a chain quick link tool this is way overbuilt for the job and thus way too heavy.The valve core wrench looks like an afterthought and with the long-ish handle would not be easy to use.Seriously, this could have been made at least 30 percent lighter.Edit: I have machined this tool and removed the unnecessary magnet and any metal that is not needed. The tool is now much lighter and works as a chain link remover-installer only. I also wrongly had complained about the spoke wrench but realized it is supposed to be a valve core wrench. My expedition tool kit includes a sawed off valve core tool that works fine, and a separate Spokey spoke wrench , so I didn't need the awkward looking valve core slots that would still be difficult to use and could lead to over tightening the valve core.

Had an incident where my chain was twisted at the quick link and no one had the necessary tool. Riding partners had to push me five miles to civilization. Thankfully they did. Now I have a quick link took in each of my saddle bags, just in case. Will probably never need it, but it's there if I do. Plus, it holds the quick links for easy access.
