Great tool for SMD soldering
This has a wide temperature range. The fan speed is very adjustable. From the idle, the heat gets to operating temp quickly. It cools down fairly quickly.I would buy this again or recommend to others.

for the price, it's surprisingly nice!
Not sure how durable this will be at $30 CAD ($22 USD), but I was very pleasantly surprised at how well it works and not crappy it feels so far! It's perfect for small reflow work or shrink tubing which is what I needed.

Great for Installing Clarinet Pads
I tried using a small butane torch to install new pads on a clarinet but found it produced so much heat that the clarinet could be easily damaged. I discovered that some musical instrument repair techs use air soldering stations for this purpose instead of a torch. Using this tool I was able to repad a clarinet without causing any damage. I used low temperature hot glue sticks and set the temperature on this hot air tool to 250 Celsius. This item was the least expensive hot air soldering tool I was able to find. The hot air stations sold by the musical instrument supply houses cost many times more. I recommend this tool for occasional DIY repadding of a clarinet.

Shoddy workmanship immediately broke
First time turning the solder on there was am obvious hot spot on the barrel turning it cherry pink very quickly. Denise then started sparking before I could even shut it down. Turned back on and now it only blows cold air and shows “5-e” on screen. Also operating instructions are awful and are half for another device.
