Great water quality. Worth the price.
The media could not be loaded. Background before buying APECI'm familiar with RO water and prefer it over anything else. I also used RO filter in Thailand and when I moved to USA I thought the water quality would be better so I wasn't looking for RO filter. I used tap water for cooking and drinking by filtering with Brita before but I personally hated it because there's still chlorine smell and honestly you can't trust water quality these days because there's a lot of contamination in it so Ineeded better filtration.Water qualityIt's RO so quality is as good as the bottled water. No chlorine smell. Water has taste but it has no sharp feeling when drinking. If you're worried that RO will get rid of minerals in the water, to be honest, you can get minerals from somewhere else - cooking, supplemental pills etc. Having access to non contaminated water is my priority.Filtration systemWhen you use up one cycle it takes 90 seconds to filter new cycle in it. It doesn't take long at all. The noise can be high but it never really bothers me as it's a quick process. The vdo I attached is of when it's filtering new tank.Suitable for 2 people with small animals. We are a couple and have 2 cats with big tank of water fountain. I also cook a lot. Bigger household should consider under the sink installation instead. We use tap water, it's NOT suitable for well water.Design is modern with decent materials. It's convenient especially those living in an apartment where you're not allowed to drill.

Good value, needs install prep
Updated:I've used this for over a year, and it stopped working properly after about 6 months. After turning on the water, it would go a bit, then I would turn it off, and it would start making pumping noises. This eventually led to the unit stopping altogether. In order to get it to start again I had to unplug and replug it. I contacted APEC support. They told me to reset the unit, so I did. Not only did it NOT fix the problem, now the unit reset the filter, and the red light is blinking instead of the blue one from before. The water itself has also lost PPM quite a bit, from my previous review it was 25-40, now it's 57 - 75, and the water taste is very different. I went back and forth with APEC for a couple weeks, the best they would do is send me a new filter. But that doesn't fix the pumping problem that continues, sometimes for 5 minutes, pumping every 3 seconds in an interval. It's not the "alarm" because the none of the alarm levels act this way. I would ABSOLUTELY pass this unit by. It's affordable, but if something goes wrong like it did in my case, APEC isn't there to help, and you're left with a unit that's completely worthless.OLD REVIEW: I've been using this RO system for about a month now and it's worked pretty well. The water tastes great, and I can now utilize higher quality water for cooking, which I've wanted to do for a long time. Some notes about install. You need power for this system. I wasn't sure I had it, but any regular plug will do, I had to run an extension cable under the sink but I made it work. When installing the unit came with little white insert caps where the hoses (red, blue, etc) go. The instructions didn't say what to do with these or how to remove them, but these caps MUST be removed to put the hoses in.Also you have to drill into the drain pipe for the waste water to drain. They have you seal and screw the hose to the drain pipe, but it's important to know that you will need to drill into the existing plumbing, because you need the drill, and you need to be okay with doing that. If you remove the system, you'll need to seal that hole laterOnce out together and setup, you'll start the system. It started flashing red once I turned it on. Leave the system running until the system displays a blue light. Afterwards the water is safe to drink. The ppm on my water on the tap is around 270 - 290. Running through the RO system it's between 25 - 40 depending on how long I let the system run ahead of time. Was worth the purchase, and I haven't hesitated to recommend this model to friends.

A Worthy Option - Recommend
Recommend! It is a lot more user friendly than the 3 stage Osmosis system this replaced! The replacement filter is also much less money than the replacement filters for our original 3 stage system. A little noisy when you are running it or when it occasionally filters, but not bothersome. No issues. You may need a plumber to do the initial install depending on your set up under your sink and how comfortable you are with DIY. Also recommend to make sure you have enough room (height, depth, and width), and an outlet to plug it into under your sink before purchasing. A worthy option if you are looking at this type of Reverse Osmosis system.

Love the convenience, like the water
I bought this APEC tankless unit to replace an older APEC model with a tank and 5 filters. The water on the new unit tastes good but not quite as good as with the old tankless model. This unit was installed by my plumber. It looks great inside the cabinet and I’m happy to no longer struggle to replace the 5 filters. I will sacrifice a bit of water quality for the convenience of this tankless unit. I don’t find the sound of the motor bothersome. It’s about the same noise level as the nearby Subzero refrigerator. The plumber had to put a fitting on the blue tubing so it would accept my faucet which is a water filter faucet that matches the other finishes in my kitchen. APEC could provide more instruction on installing with customers own faucet and provide the piece needed. Also, the water had to run a long time for the flashing red light to turn solid blue. Longer than the 30 minutes listed, more like 40 minutes. Overall, I like the unit and would buy again.
