From out of the box 10 mins setup this is a great piece of kit for the price, great build quality the amount of leds in this unit is miles superior to my fluval aqua sky, The timer is a basic on/off then night mode on/off 3 minutes to setup.with my fluval there was quite a few dead spots of light with this unit now no light dead spot, the only downside from unboxing after 1 hour running the heat sink on the top gets a bit hot which is understandable with the amount of leds it hasI’ve add photos to show the comparison from fluval to this model( fluval the small unit as per photos ) My tank is 46cm long fluval Actual size of the unit is 26 cm this unit is 45cm fits my tank beautifully

Update September 2024 - light is showing condensation inside the LCD screen and now the auto function does not work, carried out factory reset on the light and it still will not auto turn off and on. This is key for a planted tank and the main reason I purchased the light after a lot of research on the best light to suit my tank needs.Great light, love the auto function, took a little bit of fine tuning the on and off times, on the standard auto range to suit the tank, and keep the algae growth down. Running on a discus planted tank and the light does make the colours pop on all the fish. Plant growth is great. I only wish that the bespoke programming could have included coloured lights, orange for sun rise and sunset and some of the green and blues for the moon phase lighting. Other than than, it’s a great light.

This light is great value for money.It is very bright when set to 100%.The biggest downside to me is its timer/programmer. it is a pig to initially set up, which is why i gave it 4 stars and not 5. When you are used to it, it makes sense, but initially it is a pain.The colour spectrum is good and seems to be good for plants and fish.Its waterproof.If you can fight your way through the set up, its value for money is great compared to, say, the Fluval 3 light. This one is £65ish, the corresponding sized Fluval one is £300ish. A big difference.

I am very satisfied with the Hygger Aquarium LED Light! It performs exactly as described on the website, and I love how easy the settings are to use. The variety of light colors adds a great aesthetic to my aquarium, and the sunrise and sunset modes are simply fantastic.One thing to note, however, is that when there's a power cut (which happens quite often where I live), the light doesn't automatically turn back on, and I have to reset the timer manually. It’s a minor inconvenience, but something to be aware of. Also, this device doesn’t work with a smart plug, which could be a limitation for some users.Overall, I highly recommend this light for anyone looking for a full-spectrum, easy-to-use aquarium light.
