Peakdale Make Your Own - Sweet Tree Kit

I use to make these sweets trees a while a go so it has been a long time since I have made one. Instructions are clear, easy to make. Everything included. Nice little gift. The larger one does take a-lot of chocolate or sweets I probably could have tighten the gaps with chocolate but it still looks good, nice handmade gift.

I used this to make sweets trees for a wedding, one with marshmallows and one with Ferrero roches. The kit instructions are easy to follow, comes with everything you would need except the sweets and toothpicks to hold the sweets. Held up the weight well, although I found it tricky to transport, I covered it with cellophane wrap which contained everything but some bits fell off but easy to fix. My only problem was the polystyrene balls provided were different sizes so I had to purchase a separate ball from hobbycraft (which also by the way, sells all the stuff you would need too). It's great if it's your first time making, I had a lot of fun doing.

Having seen these at a craft fair starting at £30 each made up, I decided to make my own for a family party, the kit arrived on time exactly as described and is very easy to use. I am sure you could make them for a little less money once you are up and running but to begin with they are a no fuss, great buy with lots of hints and examples. I would definitely recommend

Two kits to make two trees. Kit comes with every thing you need (except cocktail sticks, if you're doing Ferrero then you'll need to buy those). It has nice easy instructions and I had the entire thing made within half an hour. End result is lovely and makes a great gift.

Highly recommend.I marked down slightly on value for money, because you could buy the products in the kit quite easily, for less money. However, these are great starter kits to see if you enjoy doing it first.Don't use heavy chocolates and DO NOT BUY EDIBLE GLUE. That stuff doesn't stick anything, to anything. Use melted chocolate or toothpicks told hold things on.I used white chocolate buttons to make a face and malteasers for hair. The malteasers were a nightmare and I don't recommend using them at all. They took a mixture of.melted chocolate, wooden sticks, and a lot of my swearing to hold together.Sticking sticks through wrappers is really easy though - just be careful around kids, as they can be very sharp. Enjoy!

Fantastic product, delighted with the results.The plaster does set quickly once mixed so ensure you have the doweling to hand. I actually decorated the ball prior to fitting it to the doweling (it was heavy).I used a hot glue gun to glue the toffees and ball to the doweling and was delighted everything stuck so easily to the ball.Easy to follow instructions and hints and tips.I will definitely purchase more sets.The set was delivered quickly and packaged securely.Highly recommend.

I bought this kit to make two sweet trees for my wedding candy buffet and I am delighted that I did. The kit came with everything you needed (apart from sweets obviously) and very easy to follow instructions. I also have enough plaster left over to make another couple of tree base pots in future.I made a marshmallow tree using the bigger polystyrene ball and a malteser one using the smaller ball. I'm really impressed by how well they turned out. Great kit- would def recommend.

The colour of the planters is light green, which is very disappointing as Ferrero Roche tree doesn't look appealing in green which has basically ruined my gifts. There should be an option to choose a colour for the planter but light green is not acceptable for a Chistmast gift!
