Silverline Grout Bag 300 x 600mm (633884)

Bought this after reading many reviews on using this technique for flag stones and also brick work. At first it was a bit trick to get the right consistency of mortar, plenty of plasticiser and make sure there are no hard lumps in both the sand and cement. Mix has to be nice and soft almost running but there technique I found best is to first twist the top of the bag with one hand, then use the other hand to grip the bag close to the nozzle and it is this hand that is used to squeeze the mortar out. After 30 mins when its just gone off you can then scrape off excess from brick work/flags without it staining, then use the back of a small t-spoon to firm the joints and give a neat smooth finish.Great item, and one bag lasted me for 60 metres of pointing indian sandstone joints which was a lot simpler than either brushing in a dry mix or doing it slowly by hand.

The simplest tools are often the best. Easy to fill and use ... especially if you've ever done any icing! Good value for money

Well, a revelation really as I expected little from this bag, as to work well they have to be very well made and robust. This one is! It's a very nice size, not too big and not too small, holds plenty of cement/mortar mix without getting out of hand.Made of a really tough waterproofed canvas material with the firmly attached blue end stitched very securely on. Just cut the end piece to the diameter you want for your mix - I cut it to be about the size of my finger and this gives an excellently smooth flow of cement-mix that I'm using to re-point and reinforce a stone-wall. Enables me to squirt the cement-mix right into the crevices between the stones of the wall. A superb buy and I've ordered another as this bag really does do the job - really quick delivery also. 100% from me. Oh yes, washes perfectly too, takes about 1 minute under the tap to get totally clean and ready to use next time.

The size of the nozzle was too big for my job - which was grouting between bathroom tiles. You can cut it to make it larger as the description says, but you can't make it smaller!Bag is easy to clean after use.

Does the job well. Very hard wearing!

Although my cement mix was liquid form I couldn't get the mix out from tip, I also cut the tip and still nothing won't recommend

I bought this (and a Marshaltown version that had a bit missing) to apply Mapei ultra grout between limestone floor tiles. It works - briefly - but quickly gets clogged unless you rinse it out between every grout refill if you use fast set grout or mortar. You need to use FAR more squeeze pressure than you might expect, unless you make the mix much sloppier than the manufacturer recommends. (Don't do this as it can lead to the grout sagging or cracking). I gave up with it quickly and reverted to trowelled pointing.Only use this if you have a slow setting and fairly loose grout or mortar.

Great item. Made a very fiddly job much much easier.
