I've never owned a buffer/polisher before, and never used one on my car, so I did some research before purchasing this. But I was very pleased with the results. I used this polisher with Griots Complete Compound. I was able to remove all the oxidation from my 15 year old car and remove some minor scratches in the clearcoat as well. You can see the original side on the right of the image, which has a haziness due to some major oxidation, and you can see the polished side on the left, which is much clearer and smoother. I used the orange foam pad and the white microfiber pad. The speed control works very well. The polisher feels very solid! My only complaint was that the side handle feels a little flimsy, but its wasn't a problem.
