This has really nice, fine volume steps! That makes it really nice to feed the speakers in my skiing helmet. This allows me to listen to music at a low enough volume level to still be aware of my surroundings. It offers lots of fine steps in the volume, so as to be able to "fine tune" the volume level to deal with surrounding ambient noise level, but still be able to be conscious of what's going on around me and hold conversations. This is in contrast to a mechanically similar item, the "Headphone Adapter Lightning to 3.5mm AUX Audio Jack and Charger Extender..." by zoyuzan. That Zoyuzan adapter has two few volume steps and each step is particularly large. It is impossible to "fine tune" the volume level so as to be able to hear your music AND still be conscious of your surroundings. So... buy this one by Mangotek!!!

It is nicely built. It is a bit expensive though.

Bought this as it seemed like a clever alternative to the usual corded dongle adaptors that ultimately break from use.I used this twice sitting at my desk to listen to music on my iPhone. Never left my desk, never stressed in any way. Went to use it again and the iPhone no longer recognizes it, phone plays audio over the speaker only when this is plugged in. Other headphone jacks work fine. Look elsewhere if you are looking for something that will last longer than a week.UPDATE: I submitted a query to the seller as the listing claims the item has a warranty. The seller quickly responded, apologized for the inconvenience, and offered to refund my purchase price if I purchased another unit, which I did.New unit arrived a couple days later and it works perfectly, so I am a happy camper once again. I can personally attest they will back their advertised warranty, excellent customer service.I am seeing a few other reviews with similar issues so there may still be a quality control or inherent design issue causing premature failure. I will update here if the issue resurfaces with the new unit, until then I am thoroughly enjoying a cable-free dongle existence.Update 7/30/21: New replacement unit stopped working 10 days after I got it. Definite quality issues.

I purchased these at the recommendation of a friend, and am very pleased at the durability of this adapter. I discovered their superiority after I tried some other adapters that turned out to be fragile. These seem sturdy, though I do treat them with care.I found that a right-angle connector on my earbuds works better than a straight connector as far as stress at the jack goes.The four stars for sound quality is simply because I listen to podcasts and spoken word, which doesn't really put them to the test but the sound quality for this use is just fine.

It worked well for a while But eventually the loop to be chained broke.

This is a small, sturdy solution that works with my volume and next/back/pause button.I already own multiple sets of $300+ Klipsch x12i audiophile earbuds and I don’t want to switch to a Bluetooth set that are junk once the batteries wear out in a year (or less). I also use my earbuds with non-BT devices, this just solves my iPhone issues.New Apple iPhones no longer have a 3.5mm headphone jack due to the waterproofing of their devices… this is the simple solution.

These are amazing!! I was so worried they wouldn't work right and I was going to have to buy a pair of actual lightning headphones. If you care about lag latency with the microphone picking up on your content - specifically when making TikTok duets and stitches - these are a game changer. You can now use ANY headphones with a mic (I use my really nice AKG headphones from when I used to have Samsung phones) and it registers as lightning headphones with no lag or issues what-so-ever. Sounds amazing, no quality loss I can discern.I'm super happy, because I feel they're going to take the port away eventually for waterproofing and now I don't have to buy headphones I may only be able to use for a handful of years, I can use this adapter for the ones I use for my gear already.

I chose this item in order to delete any dangling cords sticking out from my iPhone. I also ordered a pair of cheaper ones that plug in and hang down straight. I clearly heard distortion using this right angle adapter but did not on the others. My guess is my Otterbox protetive case adds enough thickness at the base of the phone that it prevents a secure connection. And I have no desire to ditch the Otterbox so I'll return this item.It was scratching sounding even when the phone was stationary.
