HUGE! Holds everything you need and more
I was pretty shocked by the size and floppy construction. I wasn’t sold at first but this was the only one I found that could hold both an easel and a stool. I can even slide an umbrella in along. The pockets are not to big but roomy enough you don’t need to struggle to slide things in and out. There’s also a pocket on front for your brushes but the bristles were getting banged up so I slid a brush holder in there for them. The inside pockets have no dividers so you can even slide a gigantic French easel in there!I can fit plenty of panels and supplies in thereIncluding my guerilla painter box but it makes it heavy, so I usually opt to carry that separately. There are a bunch of pockets on the outside so they’re easy to get to out in the field. This takes some finagling to get use to all the straps and how to make it do what you want. The beauty of it is it will do just bought anything! The downside is the size, but for me it’s worth carrying and easel, stool, and umbrella when I might need them. The inside has no structure or dividers, next I may play with adding a bag inside that does offer pockets and organization. One other thing is that several reviews mentioned that it wasn’t waterproof, i believe it is supposed to be but I may hit it with a spray just to be sure. This wasn’t love at first sight by any means but it’s definitely grown on me!

thank you for making this.
5 stars. Exactly what I wanted. This bag is large. I threw a L 26 x W 20 panel in and it held it nicely. That's about as large as I'd be able to go width wise. The various buckles and D rings around the bag are great. You can use carabineer clips on the D rings, and the clips hold everything snug. The quality feels really nice. I haven't put it into extensive use yet, but just by feel alone I'm confident this thing will hold up to hiking trips with paints, panels and easel all packed in.All that said, there is one improvement I would make. It do not make the bag of a less quality, it's just something that'd be nice in a 2.0 version of the bag.The inside compartment is very large, and that space can be utilized a bit more with standard pockets. Could be layered pockets of equal size, or a couple long pockets and a couple wide for brushes, pencils, sketchbooks, miscellaneous items that may not fit anywhere else.I know I'll use the front pockets for my tripod, brushes, and medium. So inside, I would like a place to specifically store my bag of paints, paper towels, panels, easel, etc. I'd rather not have to rifle through it as I'm setting up. Pockets on the inside would fix that. Otherwise, fantastic bag.

Just what I needed.
Very nice backpack. I really like it. I attend art classes and walk with a cane so it's very hard for me to carry anything. With all of my art supplies in a backpack, I can easily carry what I need and still have my hands free. Thank you.

Huge Backpack Meant for Art
I am an urban sketch artist and was looking for a way to transport my tripod, easel, art supplies, and panels in a way that protected them and would make taking my gear easier. The canvas is sturdy, the stitching is acceptable. I like the color of the backpack. All too often black is the only choice. This is a lovely camel hue without military connotations. It has many pockets and straps to carry a tripod, chair, art supplies, ect. It is big enough to handle a french easel or larger pocade box, although I would recommend finding a pad to place between yourself and the wooden accessories for comfort. It turned out to be far too large for my general use. My gear got lost in the huge pack and it overshadowed my body's size when I wore it. It is not the most comfortable pack to wear and I would not recommend it for day trips where you are out the entire day. That said, I have decided to keep it. I do carry in art to Comic Con every year and as an art hauler, it might prove to be useful since some of my art is quite large and I usually only have one trip to get to my panels in the art show.So I'm on the fence with recommendations. If you feel you could handle the large size of this backpack, the materials and sewing are good. If you are a large person, the size might not be as much of an issue for you. As with all things, research and make your own decision.

One hefty backpack
The material is tough, there are a lot of pockets to store all your supplies for whatever you need it to be. Easy to carry.

Won’t keep the rain out
The material may be water proof, but the top of the bag doesn’t zip up. The top just folds over. And it catches my Great Pyrenees's hair all over it. The storage isn’t even that great. Only good thing is the size and comfort

Plein Air Backpack is a winner
This bag fits my U-go large pouchade box, side trays, paint, and other gear. There are pockets for water, your tripod, bug spray, sunscreen, and a mobile phone pocket on the strap. This bag has made hauling plein air gear easier. The bag is made of sturdy canvas, but its not structured so you can put a lot of stuff in it. Overall, I love the bag!
