I purchased this and it came in yesterday. I took a shower a few minutes ago and used the Awapuhi and Holy Basil Shampoo. I got it because I was looking specifically for a shampoo with Awapuhi in it. After washing my hair no longer felt soft it felt very stiff like it was stripped. I applied my own conditioner to my hair to let it sit in hopes it would correct whatever the shampoo did but it did not. I have very thin, fine hair and not much of it left to begin with but I never expected this shampoo to do what it did. I've never had that happen before. I came on here and read the reviews after my shower and found another review that stated the same thing I am experiencing. The other review also pointed to the fact the ingredient list on the bottle mentions nothing of Awapuhi in any form. I double checked the scientific name just in case and it confirmed it isn't there. I wasn't aware there was a picture of the ingredient list on the product page and didn't think to look before purchase since it was right on the front of the bottle. Unless I am missing something this is false advertising. If I am wrong please tell me so I won't be so nervous of continuing my search for a decent not super expensive shampoo. I never contacted the seller regarding the product and I don't plan to due to me reading further and seeing it states no returns due to some FDA regulation I believe it was. I did throw it away to make sure no one else stumbled across and used it. The smell of this shampoo is wonderful though. Please please do not put this on your hair though. I have never left a one star review so please please if you feel you must have it test this one on a small section before dousing your head in it. The other post I read stated their hairless increased after use and I'm hoping maybe I will bypass that part of unwanted side effects.

My friends in Maui are in need of shampoo at the disaster hubs so I sent this to them because island girls grow a lot of hair and don't color. I sent this along with coconut conditioner. I hope this helps them!

I love the scent and could be more intense if it were up too me. This is the best shampoo for my fine hair . I love it

This shampoo says awapuhi in the front label however it’s not listed in any of the ingredients on the back. The shampoo soaps up but strips and hardens your hair. It turns your hair into hard twigs and make you lose more hair. Definitely false advertising. Was hoping for something all natural but the ingredients are harsh on your hair. Definitely not worth buying. Can’t even get a refund. Definitely a waste of money and getting tossed.

I have to reiterate what the other two reviewers said. I have fine thin hair and it completely stripped my hair. It's like a clarifying shampoo but much worse. After washing my hair is hard and dry and very stiff. I put conditioner on and that seemed to help a little. But the shampoo is just terrible. I don't think this is a healthy option for my hair and absolutely do not recommend. I got this for Christmas 2024 from my sister at my request.
