Excellent Replacements!
These are excellent shoes and great replacements for my older version. The sole is quite soft when compared my old version so I don’t expect long term endurance. The fit is perfect as is the comfort. I wear size 10.5 but size 10 here. Here’s a more personal insight from which I made my assessment:I’m extremely easy on shoes and do everything possible to maintain those shoes that I really like. At my age (59 years), once I have something that works, I’m very reluctant to change, but in the case of my VERY old Trail Gloves (gen 1?) it became time. Repairs using glue and Shoe Goo were effective for many years but even those two products reached their service limit. After not finding the same model, I tried these version 7’s and I couldn’t be happier. I give a strong recommendation with understanding that the sole is soft and might have a short lifespan for some users.I hope you enjoy these shoes as much as I do.

Good sneakers for dudes like me with flat feet
I don't have normal feet. I have large (size 13.5) flat feet with practically no arches and wide-set toes. My big toes are enormous, almost like thumbs, and I have a huge gap between my first and second toes. I've had issues with plantar fasciitis in the past, which is a common problem with flat feet. These work really well for my weird feet. I like the minimal (borderline non-existent) arch support. Medium or large arch supports just end up digging into and hurting my flat feet. There's just the right amount of arch there for me. The toe boxes on these are nice and wide so my wide-set toes don't get pinched. This is my first shoe with a Vibram sole and they're really nice. They're thick enough that your feet are protected, but you also still have a good feel of the ground under you like you do when you're barefoot. I'm also someone who prefers to wear shoes without socks, and these work well without them. I live in South Florida and it's just too hot and humid for socks most of the time. These are also nice and lightweight. I wouldn't have known about the Merrell brand if not for my dad, who also has flat feet, telling me about them.

A Trustworthy Companion for Diverse Hiking Adventures
I recently took the Merrell Men's Trail Glove 7 Sneakers on a road trip across the US, and they proved to be an excellent choice for my hiking adventures. As someone who weighs around 230 lbs, finding comfortable hiking footwear can be a challenge, but these sneakers exceeded my expectations. They provided exceptional comfort and support, even after prolonged periods of hiking, which is a testament to their design and cushioning. The versatility of these sneakers was truly put to the test as I traversed various terrains, from deserts and forests to mountain trails. They held up remarkably well in different environments, offering the stability and grip needed for safe and enjoyable hikes. It's rare to find a pair of sneakers that can adapt so well to such a range of conditions, and these Trail Glove 7s did just that. One piece of advice for potential buyers: be cautious when hiking on really dusty trails. The mesh design of the sneakers, while great for breathability, does tend to let in a fair amount of dust. This wasn't a deal-breaker for me, as they are easy to clean, but it's something to consider if you're not keen on the idea of dust getting between your toes.In conclusion, the Merrell Men's Trail Glove 7 Sneakers are a solid choice for anyone looking for durable, comfortable, and versatile hiking footwear. Their performance across various terrains is impressive, and they manage to provide comfort and support even for a heavier individual like myself. Just keep in mind the mesh's susceptibility to dust on certain trails, and you'll be set for a great hiking experience.

Wouldve been perfect if it had a slightly wider toe box, but still very good.
These are very comfortable shoes with a balance of being very flexible yet having some (minimal) cushioning. As others have said, theyre also a great transition shoe for conditioning feet into thinner soled, more hard core barefoot shoes. The toe box is roomy but couldve been a bit wider. They also do a great job running and jogging on trails, good grip, good flex and feedback with just enough cushioning to protect the feet from rocks and gravel.

Comfortable and well made.
Nice fit on my wide feet. Same Merrell quality I've come to expect. Good price.

Merrell can't keep to the simple elements of a barefoot shoe
This is a decent shoe. But, like the Trail Glove 6, Merrell has lost track of the few simple rules of a good barefoot shoe. Those are: zero drop, a wide toe box, flexible sole and no arch support. The TG5 met all of these criteria and was a great shoe. With the TG6 (which I did not own) it was apparently the inclusion of arch support that ruined it. With the TG7 it's the toe box. The toebox is too narrow and squeezes on your pinky toe. I do not have a wide foot, it's just an M.I also own the Vapor Glove 6 (the latest). That shoe hits all the marks. A great shoe. But sometimes you need a slightly thicker sole and that's where the TG usually comes in. Now, it's not like the toebox issue is a major dealbreaker. It's just that if you like the ability to fully spread out your toes in your barefoot shoes, this shoe doesn't satisfy. It's just more like a "normal" shoe in that regard.

Great Shoes
I love these shoes. I wear them for rucking and I find that they have great grip on a varying range of surfaces. They are very flexible and have a great amount of flexibility which I find to be very comfortable.
