It works. It's lightweight, so much lighter than actually running batteries on my monitors. They seem to be built well. It slid right into the battery tray of my monitor. The D-Tap fits snug into the V-mount plate. So far so good.

I am no stranger to dummy batteries and anyone who works with a lot of cameras is not a stranger either. But typically we use dummy batteries that plug into an outlet. This is a dummy battery made to plug into another battery, one which is bigger and much higher capacity and that is a brilliant idea. Many photographers carry around these giant female batteries for camcorders and lighting. They have a massive capacity. When you use this to go into a NP-F style battery you might as will be plugged into the wall. You get a massive power capacity increase still remaining cordless. This is a brilliant idea.This comes with two dummy NP batteries and where is plugged into the standard DTaP outlet which is in every single v-mount,Batteries fit perfectly and they work perfectly.Call note I once tried using a NP battery charger to charge a v-mail battery through the DTaP port. This will not work. I’m not sure why but I’m assuming there’s some kind of circuitry that limits the power level. Because the battery is certainly capable of being charged through the DTaP port but I guess the dummy battery only sends the power out in one direction.

This great little accessory does exactly what I needed. It allows me to connect a higher capacity V-lock battery to my portable lights that use Sony-style NP-F batteries. The lights will now operate for a longer period of time without needing a battery change.

Works well. Will have to see how it holds up over time!
