My dog loves it. I mix it with water and a renal friendly wet food. She has been a picky eater, eventually turning her nose up at other renal foods. But she seems to like this one so we are happy.

Gag. Sputter. Choke. With his big brown eyes he looks up as if to ask, “What are you trying to feed me, here? This cannot be my actual life.”Doesn’t work as a standalone food. Doesn’t work as a mix in or topper. The question we all have here is, why?

My dog is having liver and digestive issues. I’m looking for a lower protein food without needing a prescription. This food was good and easy to hydrate using a 1:1 method. Initially my dog was very interested in it. Then, like most foods I’ve tried, after 4-5 days she turned her nose up. I think that speaks to my picky dog, not to the quality of this food!!!Package arrived almost overnight. I really like the faux hook and loop closure; that’s so much easier the the zip lock kind.While the product did not work for my dog, I was very pleased with it and will recommend it.

I’ve used the canned version of this food for over a yr and this dried version is not the same. Hoped it was a better alternative than all the cans but not the case. Gave my dog the squirts and she pooped all over the house! Beware!

This is very good food. You need to add water to make a pate type food. It’s great for my 11 yr old Chihuahua who is getting kidney stress (hi normal BUN Creatinine serum levels) He is missing quite a few teeth so it’s easy for him to eat. It did take longer than 7 -10 days to transition just keep at it. He will be staying on this food.

My package was ripped, and it was not allowed to be returned. The product was not cheap, but I do not want to give my dog a product that is defective. This is NOT RIGHT! I would like to return it.

my dog wolfed this stuff dry but wouldn't go near it when mixed with water. it needs to be mixed with water for dogs on a kidney diet, so it didn't work for us

I've tried many of the different kidney care dog foods and home cooked recipes without any success. I heard about Daves low phosphorus dog food on the Canine Kidney Disease facebook group. I decided to try it and I am happy to report that HE LOVES IT and is licking the bowl clean. Their customer service is excellent as well and provided additional nutritional information on the food as well as tips to try to get him to eat. It's been a month since I purchased this and he is still eating it daily and is more alert and energetic.
