WooooWHO!!
I was at first a little torn on deciding if I should get this blu-ray Doctor Who box set. I have read many mixed reviews but after a while I decided to go ahead and get it. Now firstly, I have read reviews where some customers have stated that the Doctor Who Confidential episodes and the BBC Doctor Who at The Proms from 2008 are not included in this set. Well I can tell you straight up that they are all there in this set. The Confidential episodes are spread out on the discs very much like the original DVD's. The Proms show is in the Special Features section on the David Tennant Specials set so please don't worry about any special features being missed here because they're not missing at all.Now on to the quality. The first 4 series are upscaled to HD so they're an improvement on the DVD quality but not dramatically. The sound quality is better and the music score in the background sounds absolutely amazing during those dramatic scenes, especially if you're using a home theatre system surround sound. Series 5-7 are in full HD although some people have complained that the show seems to have slowed down slightly and is noticeable when watching. I haven't had this issue at all and the picture and sounds is stunning. It may have been that those customers who complained about the show being slowed down slightly in picture may have a lower frame rate in their HD TV's.The set comes packaged in a nice box. I like the design on the box and on the bottom on the base of the box it shows you all what's included in this set. Each series is individually packaged in a multi disc case. The designs on the covers look good, they have made new designed covers for the first 4 series. Again there have been complaints that the use of a retro Doctor Who logo has been used for those 4 series instead if the original logo used for those series. I prefer the retro logo used because I wasn't a fan of the logo used for Eccleston and Tennant. Anyway it's only a logo, the show is still the same great show. People need to stop moaning about silly unimportant things like that.My only disappointment is that maybe they should have waited to release this set once Matt Smith had finished his time on the show. That way they could have included all his Specials and had all of his episodes so that it was complete that way. Other than that I can't complain.

CONVERSION OF SERIES 1-4 FANTASTIC! AMAZING BOXSET
Ok i have no idea why some people are complaining? I received it on the 1st November and have watched all of series 1-4 in 1080p and i have to say i was very impressed could not notice anything wrong with the conversion's at all they all are very very well done and the best that series 1-4 has ever looked! You can notice that they look and sound so much better then the crappy DVDs. I was disappointed that you don't get the bonus disc from the U.S set but i'm sure someone will sell the bonus disc separately on Ebay. People say the price is to high each series works out at about £23 each at £167 so its not that bad at all really, some people are complaining about the packaging, it is quite small just a cardboard box but it is a very thick cardboard box which will last a long time and i think it looks very smart a little blue box but bigger on the inside. So well worth upgrading series 1-4 on blu-ray i would not listen to the negative reviews at all I think they need to check there player and there HDMI cable to make sure there working right and if you own the series on dvd and blu-ray all ready sell them and get the price down a bit as that's what i'm going to do i just wanted to make sure that the blu-ray versions look and sound better before i sell my old versions and they do. If you want to have a comic book, bonus disc, sonic screwdriver remote control and 3 art cards then go for U.S set but it will cost you about an extra £90.

Great set - not sure why all the negativity...
Never wrote a review before, but considering some of the negative reviews for this product I thought I should try and balance it out a bit.The box it comes in is pretty nice and sturdy with the season summaries on the back. The blu ray cases themselves are nice and slim in comparison to the bulkier DVD boxsets, with a few new covers. I liked the use of the 50th font for series 1-4 and the specials, but wish they could have used it on all seven for the sake of uniformity and consistency. Only a slight niggle though. Otherwise, it's nice to have more episodes per disc than the DVD counterparts. The remastered picture for series 1-4 is pretty decent. Not quite sure what some others mean, but I think it's a noticeable improvement, even with DVD upscaling. I can't notice if they are slowed down either, but that's just me.Slight shame about th bonus disc being absent from the UK set, but hardly a hardship. Nice to see TDTWATW in series 7 as well! Was beginning to wonder if it had been forgotten about.Overall, a great set, maybe not worth £170 (but it was to me!) and definitely way better than what I was expecting considering all of the negative reviews I've read. 9/10!

What's not to love!!!!
Bought this when it was £70 cheaper and so glad I did (although as a long standing whovian I would've paid the price it is now), the new cover sleeves are amazing but i would've liked redesigned covers for series 5-7 but you can't have it all. They've not included the 50th anniversary special which I understand as they've got to make money and let's face it Doctor Who makes money for the BBC. At the moment this collection takes pride and joy along side of The Day of the Doctor, The Time of The Doctor plus series 8 and 9 at the top of my collection of 650 Blu-Rat's. One of the best purchases I have made off Amazon.
