Hello, It is as big as the picture. I used it as a backdrop for my daughters party. It was a decent size.

Q: Is it purple or blue?

It's such a deep blue, it can almost look purple, depending on the light. It can also sort of look black. We used it for a photo background on the wall, it looked awesome

Q: What plastic are these? polyethylene? pvc? how badly do they smell?

All I can find is that it’s made out of plastic you can write to the company directly and ask them, I’ve never had anyone complain about the smell, but it is plastic so I don’t know what to tell ya
