Great looking clock to show in your house

Purchased this beautiful clock with the intention of passing it down from generation to generation. It is definitely that type of clock. It is beautiful and operates exactly as expected however, the weights came dislodged and fell. I don’t know what caused it as no one was in our living room or had touched it. I will warn against winding it too tightly also. Do not remove the weights and then try to wind it up. You may not be able to reattach if you wind too tightly. Other than that…. This is an awesome addition to our home. It may take some time to find a repairman also. So research that prior to purchase in the event you may have an issue, you will know where to find someone to help resolve it in your area.

What causes the weights not to drop at same time? The weight on the left is a lot slower than the other two

I feel I have to write a Review.I have this same Clock for over 20 some years.It was a Anniversary Present from Husband.Was set up by Company who delivered ,and has not stopped working .I have lost everything during Hurrican Katrina.Water was in my house 6 feet high,the Clock set in this Water for a Day or so.The clock made it through ,the Penleum and the Weights set in the water as well and those became rusted,got the rust off the weights,but not all from the Pendulum.So if you want a Clock that last you for ever,THIS is the one

This large floor grandfather clock is large and tall and makes its presence no matter where you place in your home. Unless you have 10 foot or vaulted ceiling, you may want to consider smaller clock. Because the ceiling in my great room is 15 foot, it is well suited for this beautifully crafted grandfather clock. The packaging was meticulous and sturdy thus. It arrived without a scratch! Incredible but true! You should not handle this clock by yourself as it will tower over you. Until you can level the clock and install the safety strap, you should not proceed. This is very important if you have young children. This clock comes with detailed instruction. Please, take your time to set up this clock. Some parts may lack sequential instruction but they will become self explanatory. It took three tries to have the clock to be in 'run mode' when the pendulum was gently pushed to the left. You have choices to set different chimes and of course, I set it with West Minister chime with corresponding gongs. And, stand back and admire at U.S.A. made grandfather clock with German component. I plan to purchase some ceramic home figurines for those sturdy glass shelves just like the photograph of Liskov grandfather clock featured in Amazon. It is my observation that this model features all that's available for Majestic II, but you don't have to spend as much! I am so happy that I chose this model. I cannot comment on reliability or dependability since I just setup the clock but I can tell it is superbly built grandfather clock. I spent 2 hours to setup the clock. I took my time setting this grandfather clock as this is a curio grandfather clock which has many glass parts. Thank you Howard Miller Clock Company and thank you Amazon for featuring Liskov model!!!
