Cannot get completely tight
Gun works as advertised. Cuts as close or closer than diagonal cutters "dykes" but still leaves an edge. Only problem is the jaw starts to slip if you try to pull completely tight. Good for snug fit. Will work for me as long as I keep in mind on solid objects will only be snug but still allow slight movement.. On soft objects like hose or wire loom will compress enough to stay tight.

Got the tie gun, but no cable ties included as promised!
My order was suppsoed to include a tie gun (which arrived) and 100 cable ties (which did not). the tie gun seems okay, but hard to know without the cable ties that make it worth using... ughupdate: Asked for a replacement with the 100 cable ties and received a new box today THAT ALSO HAS NO CABLE TIES! At least they are consist(ly bad)?

Much better than by-hand!
I received this product for "free" through Vine.Using this tool is much better for installing zip-ties than by hand. I'm fairly sure there are better tools on the market, but this is perfect for occasional use or being on a budget. I'd rate it about 4.5-stars.* Utility: Wrap the stainless steel cable-tie around the object, insert end through the tool, squeeze a couple times to tighten, and then press down on the cutter. It seems to work fine, and is tight enough. I did have to re-insert the cable-tie as it started sliding out the side on my first use, but that seems correctable which improved technique.* Sturdiness & Quality: It seems fine, I don't expect it to break for any reason. The cutter on the first cable tie cut the tie easily in a single motion. The tightness of the cable tie seems adequate, though I wouldn't mind if it was slightly tighter. I'd say this seems equivalent to a decent harbor-freight tool, so if that's what you're expecting, you can't go wrong.* Features: Squeezing the handle tightens the cable, and pressing the lever cuts the cable tie.* Accessories and Hardware: The 100 cable ties included are a nice bonus.* Price: It's currently listed at $25, which seems like a decent price for this. I'm sure you can get nicer ones if you spend more.* Packaging: The packaging was a little flimsy, but you don't really need much. It would be nice if instructions were on the packaging itself, but it's simple to operate and instructions are in the Amazon listing photos.* Durability: As a standard disclaimer, I've only had this item for a short time, and will update this review if it fails for any reason.

They work pretty well
I use tywraps alot! On my trailers, on my Jeep and all sorts of outside stuff. The major problem with Tywraps is they deteriate and fall off after a while. I'm hoping that these SS straps and the install tool will help aleviate that. I don't mind if they cost a little more if they last. I did a quick test on a stack of Aluminum plates to see how they did. It was very easy to use, the cinch tool cinched the strap up nice and tight and the cutter worked well. I'm thinking this might do the trick! I then picked up the stack and tryed to twist them around some to simulate movement. The strap did loosen up a little bit. I guess the little lock ball seats a little more and causes it to loosen. It did only go a little bit and stopped. It doesn't seem to get any looser. Conclusion, I'll be using these in a lot of areas and keep an eye on them to make sure they perform long term. The tool worked as it should.

OK, I Guess....
If you only have occasional need for a heavy duty tie, this might work fine. But I am very frustrated that items like this don't come with directions. It's not that easy to figure out. The head is bulky, so if you're working in a tight spot you can forget about it. And no matter how hard I tried, I could not get the strap to fit tightly around what I was wrapping. If there were directions maybe it has a tension adjuster, or maybe my technique is wrong, but I'll never know. So if you really want to hold something tight, these wont work. If you just need to keep things grouped together, and it's too hot for a plastic zip tie, they'll probably be OK.

Lifesaver
So many possibilities with this underrated tool! It already has saved me several times but especially after the worst unexpected norther monsoon came and went in 20 min but dropped enough rain. In such a short amount of time my vehicle was amphibious like it or not as I was unexpectedly stuck many moons away from home driving through more deep flooded roads than the car was ever meant to be able to handle many of them up past the bottom ofvrhe windshield one completely underwater simultaneously getting swamped by an oncoming minivans wake. Anyway sounds dramatic but it's no fable and somehow I made it back to Port but the front end of my car was a knarley mess resting on the front tires partially and what was left dangling down past the tires. Never would I think this was salvageable a d or going back together then this arrived. With this awesome tool and the accompanying stainless steel tie wraps also time and patience I was able to make it drivable again, that and other water contaminated related mechanical and electrical repairs, but this was the catalyst this made me inspired to do all rhe other repairs to my battered little 245k mile trooper. This things all heart...and tie wraps tape apoxy and various other bandaids...more the latter but lots of heart it's got more heart than I have money to fix it proper so yeah thus was a timely lifesaver. I e used it for a bunch of other things but this review is too long already. Highly recommended even if u think u don't need it grab it you'll be happy u did at some point.

Works!
I got this set to use with the high-temperature wire looming tape. The tape never wants to stay put and doesn't like to stick to anything either. These straps let me secure everything in place and won't melt like a plastic zip-tie. The tool works well. The metal ties could be a little more robust. It is easy to over-tighten to the point that they break. It does work well once you get the feel for the proper tension.
