Fantastic bass guitar !!
This Fender Squire Sonic Bronco bass is an amazing bass guitar for the price. Right out of the box the setup was SPOT ON. The fit and finish was great. I did order some D`dadario chromes flat wound strings and a new heavier and beefier bridge to go on this bass, to suit my style of playing. Although the original strings and bridge are fine, I just like the other strings and bridge better. A great bass guitar for the money.!!

Amazing
I’ve been playing bass for 39 years, and I own several different brands. This Squier Sonic sounds incredible, especially through a Fender amp. The ceramic pickups are powerful without the punchyness typical of ceramics. The combination of the pickups and round wound strings has a bright tone while still delivering the low end allowing the harmonics to scream. This one came in at a comfortable 8lbs 2.5oz and is well balanced lacking the neck dive reported by others. The set up was spot on straight out of the box. The action was set up perfectly and the intonation was dead set accurate making it ready to play immediately. The finish on the body is flawless and the neck has a nice smooth satin feel. The neck is like a Jazz neck and tapers to a 38mm nut, giving it the feel of a fast neck. Something not commonly offered with a P Bass. This is a great bass for the beginner or experienced player.

Good bass
Started learning bass more seriously a couple years ago. Had an Ibanez Gio from early 00's that I used for recording but when I got the bug to learn more techniques and such- of course I had to spend money on something new. Currently have that Ibanez, and Squire 54 Paranormal Jazz and a Squire Jaguar. A few months ago I picked up a used Squire Bronco for around $100 just to check it out. Really like the form and size. It has/had the 2 saddle configuration so made intonating difficult- if not impossible. Ended up replacing the saddle then I routed out a pocket near the bridge for a humbucker and installed it. It works great, but I messed up on the routing a bit and now the bass needs some heavy cosmetic work.Anyway, I was in the market for a second one and noticed they have the Sonic line with the 4 saddle config- so I waited for a used on to show up and I snagged it. Is it worth full price? Yes, but this was a severe 'want' for me, not a 'need' so I was down to wait.Great bass, like the color (Coral). I can recommend.

super happy - easy for guitar players
i've been playing guitar for most of the last 20 years at least and can fiddle a little on bass but usually it just feels way too big. thought i'd take a chance on a short scale one to record bass lines or mess around in my room. i really cant believe how easy the transition was. this feels and plays great. no trouble moving up and down the fretboard or playing quick;y.the bridge on this Sonic model is very nice. i had no issue intonating or tuning.the pickup it comes up with sounds cool but is dinky by any stretch. pretty low output, i didnt meaurebuti'm willing to bet 6-7K or even lower. i put in one of those cheap dual rail humbucker types and am completely 100% satisfied with this thing for all bass needs. i was mostly concerned about the middle only pickup.. obviously it's a good balance between neck and bridge.. the tone is great to me, and i like not having to think too much about, as opposed to my guitars with so many options.dont hesitate if you're a guitar player wanting to try a bass! Also as another review mentioned, the Tahitian coral is MUCH more pink in real life. I am fine with it but probably would have gone with the blue / rosewood board one if I knew it would be so pink

Solid entry level bass
The bass came undamaged.all though the box had some dents and gouges.Fit and finish is good for the price point.Only flaw was mine did have a dent on the back side treble horn with a slight finish crack.not enough for me to worry about sending it back for a replacement.doesnt seem like anything that will cause a larger issue.with any instrument at this price you can expect some light work to be done.mostly the fretsThey are slightly sharp on the ends the higher up the frets you go.nothing a some masking tape and a light sanding sponge can't resolve.the neck seems to have almost no finish.like it's probably sanded very fine,a sanding sealer applied and a fine mist of satin water based poly.but it feels/plays nice and smooth.seems to have diadarrio strings on it stock.they have a good feel and sound to them. Tuners work good and are stable.all the electronics work and do what they are supposed to.just don't expect custom shop sounds out of them.sounds great through a fender rumble 100.Thus bass would be absolutely fine for any level of player.if your experienced it's a heck of a mod platform.

Birthday bummer
Got this as a birthday gift. Shipping was delayed only to arrive broken. Somehow I knew it would be thrown around with no regard. Never got to play it bc I had to send it back.

Better than expected
Bass came pretty much playable right out of the box. Unbelievable for a $219 instrument. Body finish has no flaws. Tuners are decent and tight. Frets have no sharp edges. Neck is straight. Changed the pickguard, bridge and strings. Fine tuned intonation and neck. Plays great!
