Please revise grinder/filter
I'm not a fan of the grinder filter combo. However, every other aspect of this cover maker is spot on.

The worst coffee maker DON'T BUY
This thing is insane. I never know what it's going to do. I brew with the same beans, the same amount of coffee every day, but it will choose to only grind, not brew one day. The next it won't do anything, can't even get the keep warm button to work half the time. Sometimes the keep warm will turn on once I've emptied the pot and walked away. A lot of times I am hitting the brew only button over and over to get it to brew after it grinds the coffee. The design SUCKS too. The coffee grounds get tossed around and flung into the water reservoir on every single brew. Because there is no cover over the ground filter. Plus, you cant really clean out the reservoir because the access to it is too tiny to fit anything in there to grab grounds or wipe it out. The filter only works about 50% of the time. There are often grounds in the coffee.

Loved it
Works great, i loved it. It is quite intuitive to use. Quite elegant design. if I put a lot of coffee it overflows, that's the only bad thing I saw, I would also like it to work without having to put the jug it comes with but instead have the coffee fall directly into my cup.

Stopped Working After 6 Months
UPDATE: After 6 months the unit stopped working. Water will no longer flow through the coffee maker. Tried descaling using vinegar but it takes around 2-3 hours to get a carafe of plain water through after a couple of restarts. I contacted Gourmia but they are closed for holiday. Already purchased another coffee maker so will be recycling/disposing of this one. Too bad. Worked reasonably well while it lasted but really should get more life out of it. Even at this price.I bought this to replace another brand of grind and brew coffee pot when we moved. The cabinets in our new place would not allow the other one to fit underneath on the counter so this was the only one I could find under 15 inches in height with a grind and brew function. It is easy to clean each night before a brew in the morning. The carafe is probably one of the easiest to pour without spilling a drop I have ever used. My other pot had a burr grinder instead of the blade grinder this one has and definitely brewed a better tasting cup of coffee. This one is decent though and works well enough for me. Especially for the price it is well worth it. Will probably replace in the future with another that has a burr grinder and maybe some other features when available in a lower profile. However, this one works well enough for me and is a solid choice at this price.

Not easy to clean funnel and filter.
Coffee maker quit after using it about one month. Messy clean up. Went back to much less expensive Mr Coffee.Would not recommend buying.

Really a mess to clean up
I love the built-in coffee grinder. What keeps this from being 5 star is that it is very messy to clean up. It’s not in the directions but if I use preground coffee I still use a paper filter just for ease of cleaning.

This coffer maker has some serious design flaws, but makes tasty coffee - when it works.
There are three major weaknesses that I'll comment on. 1) Thin carafe (pot). You must be very careful with it as the glass is very thin. DO NOT rinse with cold water immediately after emptying the hot carafe, as it may crack. I don't know yet if I can find one of similar height that can replace a broken one. 2) You must have a completely dry grinding area and mesh screen or else the coffee will not grind properly. Instead, you will get an incomplete grind with large chunks and a few whole beans. This also seems to put strain on the grinder motor. 3) The biggest problem by far is the position of the reservoir fill. It is too close to the grinding area and this allows grounds (which splash up and stick to the water drip head) to fall into the reservoir. There is NO FILTER between the reservoirs and the heater, but there is a check valve. When grounds fall into the machine they are pulled into the fill pipe and accumulate at the check valve, clogging it. A properly designed coffee maker would have at the very least, a filter or fine mesh screen to keep out any grounds and debris. This partially clogged check valve will allow less and less water to reach the plate be heated causing the slow on-and-off action of the machine, until it becomes fully clogged and the machine stops all together. Repeated rinsing of the reservoir, even with vinegar, will not remove the clog, although a few pieces came out which lead me to figuring out the problem. I actually had to remove the bottom of the machine and remove the fill hose containing the check valve and clean out the clog. If you choose to do this you will undoubtedly void the warranty, but at least you'll have coffee again.
