I purchased this solar charger because it looked robust and had all the features I needed to power my Vanbar Trail Camera. However, it would not charge. I returned it to Amazon and got a free replacement. Only problem is: it won't take charge either. Obviously poor quality control. I contacted the manufacturer about the problem and have received no reply.

This solar battery pack is exactly what I was looking for. It’s got a good sized solar panel to charge a 10,000 mAH battery. It can be mounted with a trail camera strap (included) through slots on the back, or it has screw mounts on the back and the bottom. There’s even a compass on the top so you can be sure you’re getting it facing the right direction, even without sunlight. It has mini-USB port to pre-charge it and 6VDC and 12VDC output ports. A special cable plugs into either output port and provides several different sized plugs to connect to your trail camera. There’s a power switch and four lights to indicate charge level.If only it had worked. I charged it overnight via the mini-USB port and then let it sit in the sun all day to solar change it. But I could never get any of the charge indicators to light and there was no voltage from any of the outputs, no matter how many times I pressed or held the power button. I wound up returning it. So if you order one, save the box and test it as soon as you get it.

Update: The company was able to replace this trail camera solar panel and their customer service is good. However, the second camera has exactly the same problem. It will not charge and gives no indicators or lights at all. After looking over the units and the instructions, I can see that the instructions point to an indicator light (#6) but the unit has no such light at all. Additionally, neither will light the battery level indicator lights as well. These are totally dead and really deserve 1 star, however, since the company wants to work with me I'll leave it at 2. Buyer beware though.I can’t get this to work at all. It has light indicators to give the level of the battery and a power switch that when short pressed should show the battery level. There are no lights at any point. I’ve charged with the USB and no indicators and also let it sit in the sun all day also with no indicators. Nothing I have tried makes it work. Even while charging there are no indicators. It is essentially dead on arrival. It’s likely just a defective unit and I wish it worked because it seems like a cool idea. DOA does not make me feel the quality is good though.

Works Great. Maintenance Free. Easy to Install. Comes with all the pieces you need for quick and easy install. Mounting strap or adjustable mounting bracket. Find the best spot for facing light. Both 6V, 12V cables are included (also USB charging cable as well). All cables are long enough to be versatile and usable. Excellent. Weather proof unit connections all comes out the bottom. Nice touch. Comes with all the parts and pieces that you need for quick and easy install. All this for $40. Good Price.

I've had the same problem other people have had. I never could get it to work.I mean don't get me wrong, the unit itself is beautifully made and has all the features you're looking for.I fully charged it overnight and even left it in the sun for a couple of days but never saw any type of charging indicator light. I also tested the output with a voltmeter and never got any reading.So basically it's just sitting on the shelf useless. I wish I could get a replacement.

The unit I received would not turn on, would not charge using either the solar panel or the charge cable when used with the required 5 volt USB adapter. I tried multiple USB adapters and multiple USB A to USB C cables, and left it plugged in for many hours - no indicator lights, no nothing. Contacted the supplier, who agreed the unit was defective. They sent me another one. The second one was exactly the same: DOA, no matter what I tried. I am not going to spend any more time on these. I see other reviewers have had the same experience. Oh yeah, neither compass worked either. Disappointing, I had a need for this product.

These are so great to have. They keep my game cameras fully charged and I’m able to go a week without worrying about battery. Easy to use and set up
