Use an icecream maker if you have one- otherwise it's not worth the pain and hassle doing it by hand. The flavor is good but I personally think buying another brand pre-made is a better option.

I have never tried chocolate gelato at home, and I thought this would be great to make with the kids. The instructions are easy to follow, and it doesn’t take long to make. You can even do it without an ice cream maker. I love the taste of this dark chocolate flavor. Now we can get the sweet taste of gelato at home without needing to go to a fancy restaurant. I like that there are even minerals in here such as potassium, calcium and iron.

The flavor of these Junket mixes is amazing. This dark chocolate gelato is rich and deep and chocolatey.It's also ridiculously hard to make by hand.On paper, it's easy enough. Mix the ingredients, freeze, break apart, whip up, freeze again. In person, however, it's tricky. Mixing the first time is easy. Putting it in the freezer is easy. Waiting for it to solidify is hard—it took over a day for me. If you try to whip it up too early, it melts because it's not fully frozen, and when you refreeze it, it gets ice crystally and tastes like freezer burned ice cream. So for this flavor, I let it freeze fully, then took it out and tried to break it up with a fork.One bent fork later, I chopped it up with a chef's knife, and that was a pain in and of itself. Took a lot of jabbing the point through and then leaning all my weight on the handle. As I chopped, my fingers froze and the gelato melted, even though I was using a metal bowl I'd put in the freezer beforehand.Then I had to whip my chunks of gelato, and that was also too hard. The beaters just wouldn't whip up the frozen rocks of gelato. It took more time (and more thawing) to get it to anything resembling a whippable state.I did my best, then put it back in the freezer for a refreeze. When I went to scoop myself some, it was like trying to scoop a rock. Maybe sandstone. I was able to chip off slivers of the gelato using a scoop soaked in hot water and rinsed in hot water after every scoop, but the slivers were so thin that they melted almost immediately. By the time I got myself maybe one full scoop's worth of gelato in my bowl, it was basically chocolate soup with a few chunks.Still had a delicious flavor, though.I don't know if an ice cream maker would make this any easier. I've tried two flavors now and struggled both times, but I don't have an ice cream maker to try that way. If you have one, maybe it'll be better. Again, the flavor is excellent. Just don't try to make it by hand.

This product should be removed the product does not have a good taste it has a bad taste and somewhat of and aftertaste.I tried to work with the seller to obtain a refund for a product that was substandard, and the seller refused to remit any refund without the return of their product.Further in preparing this product I used the manufacturer's directions and found again the product to be substandard.

This chocolate gelato mix has a scrumptious dark chocolate flavor. It does take some time to make and I had to put some effort into breaking it into smaller pieces after freezing it so I could put it into my blender and get it to mix into slush (I don’t have an ice cream maker). The gelato was very smooth, and not grainy at all. I would order this again for a special little treat!

I finally made this in my small ice cream maker. It turned out great. Creamy, dark choc. could of had more choc flavor. This was not like I had in Europe but good none the less. I would not buy again because of the price.
