Q: Are these eye pads thick? or like a thin piece of plastic?

They are not paper thin but not really thick.

I have not yet received them in the mail so I cannot help you with your question yet. But I imagine since they are reusable, the effect probably lasts a day or two.

they have to be sticky to stay on your skin. Yes, it helps a great deal. I am a side sleeper so this really helps reduce the look of wrinkles.
