my mother, who lives in assisted living, love this clock. He reminds her when to go to lunch and she was very spiritual.

Anyone who’s stayed on the guest room freaks out the first time they hear the clock go off in the middle of the night! I love it!

Does not sound like James Earl Jones..Pitch too high, speaks too fast to hear well.

I purchased this clock for my step-mother. She called to let me know the clock is beautiful and brought her great joy!!! She loves the voice, quality and appearance!

This clock is beautiful & 2 out of 4 of us like it very well. The voice is clear that reads the verses every hr.However my husband doesn’t like it, He seems to think the voice sounds creepy & he won’t let us keep using it! If not for that i would have gave it a 5star rate.

A great clock to bring me closer to God

Elderly relative requested this after seeing TV ads. He likes its appearance but does not benefit from the hourly quotations. As other reviewers said, the actor has a great voice but it is blurred by poor quality speakers. From six feet away I can understand half of what is said, but person with any less hearing understands little. He'd like me to return for refund, but that doesn't seem right after two months. It looks nice enough as a clock and I may just turn off the sound.

A lot of people here said you can’t turn the audio off at bedtime …great news !!! Yes you can and the clock will still work ! In total you put in 3 double AA batteries in so set the time first then take out the 2 batteries on the very bottom that are side by side ! The audio is now off and the battery on top is for the clock ! Sleep well !!!!!
