Compression spring assortment was just what I wanted
The assortment of pen springs was received on time, was well packaged with the springs sorted in labeled subcompartments which had the specs that were advertised in the description. We used the 1.19 inch long springs that easily slid over our parallel track 1/8 inch diameter stainless steel 2.5 inch dowels. Our pen lift apparatus was now complete as our minute trolley (roughly 2 inches by 2 inches) traveling along the vertical z-axis and compressed the two springs that were placed on the left hand side and right hand side mini-rails. Small aluminum collars 1/8 inch I.D. , 1/2 inch O.D. and 1/4 inch long guided the trolley on the rails which compressed these springs a small amount. We used a stepper motor slider (20 mm of travel) to push on the trolley to compressed the springs about 1/4 inch to lift the pen up or released the spring to the equilibrium uncompressed state. The spring action was perfect. Spring size was chosen for the ease in which the stepper motor slider could compress the springs to provide good pen-lift and pen-dropdown motion. Thanks to the spring selection available in this assortment it was fairly easy to do a trial and error run to determine the best spring for the job.

I only needed two
I only needed two small springs. I chose a couple from this assortment and they worked fine. Now I have over two hundred extra small compression springs if I encounter another shortage of boings.

These are “small” just like it says
This spring assortment of small springs is made of good quality, stainless (rust proof) steel. But the key word in describing them is “small”. The various dimensions of the 15 different sizes is listed in the product description, with the largest ones being only slightly longer than 1 inch. The second feature to be sure to note is that they are “compression” springs - they push things apart (not pull them together). There a plenty of situations where springs like these are used in manufactured devices, but few will be DIY type of projects - most of the things we can make with the usual tools and materials in our workshops are larger dimensioned and heavier than these springs will have much effect upon. So it is probably best to think of these as repair parts, not build it yourself components. But if you anticipate needing an assortment of small compression springs, then this may be a good choice for you.

Exactly what it says on the tin
This is an assortment of small, lightweight springs - the kind you would find in ballpoint pens. They're not industrial strength or particularly fancy, but that's okay - the listing describes this set accurately as "pen springs", and that's exactly what you get. If you had a favorite pen that's not working right, or a small contraption that needed just a little bit of springiness to achieve a special effect, these would be exactly what you need - and there's enough variety here in sizes to accommodate most needs, too, with a matrix of three diameters and five lengths. The listing is extremely honest about what you get, right down to the misspellings on the enclosed card, and I really commend that. The card in your box will promise Real Stailess Srpings, just like the one in the listing does. But it also means the springs are exactly as pictured, and the box is actually a pretty nice little box - unlike the ubiquitous blue tabbed ones, it actually closes correctly and latches well, and all of my springs arrived in the correct compartment. This is a nice little assortment to keep on hand, especially if you're a maker dabbling in 3D printing, and the price is certainly right. I'd order this again in a heartbeat if I was in the market.

Very weak springs
Was hoping to use these with some 3d printed cord locks, but the springs are just too weak to hold anything in place. I may use them in the future for something else, but nothing that will require strength.
