The touchscreen on my 2017 VW car’s Infotainment Centre stopped working, and the dealership garage did a visual inspection for £156 and said I needed a new screen, at a cost of £2,466. Not wanting to part with that much money to listen to music on long journeys, I decided to pay less than £7 for this cable instead. I am glad to report that it works well, the sound is as good with my ten-year-old iPod plugged into the aux socket as when the bluetooth connection was being used, and the charging plug keeps the iPod fully topped up. You don’t get the same notification noise to confirm the connection to the power source that you get when plugging in an Apple lead, nor the picture on the iPod screen of a battery cell being filled, but that’s a small price to pay considering the huge cost saving for what is almost the same end result. Just a shame that the car’s screen hasn’t lasted for as long as the car itself.

I didn't realise these existed. I have an IPod classic and the headphone jack has stopped working in one of the channels. With this all playback is through the dock connector and I now have perfect stereo. This saved me biting the bullet and buying another IPod. Great product and so far woks perfectly.

The media could not be loaded. I'd found my old ipod and no cabled so these done the trick
