EGO AH1620 String Trimmer Replacement Head for ST1620T, Black

The bottom of the trimmer head wears out rather quickly. Remove the bottom using the push in tabs on each side and then remove the small Phillips screw in the indented center. Drill a 1/4" hole dead center of the indented bottom and put hex headed 1/4" by 1 1/4" long bolt through with a large flat fender washer on the outside. Then thread a lock washer and nut on the inside and fasten down tight. Put the bottom back on the head. This will prevent wear on the bottom assembly and extend the life indefinitely and will not interfere with the trimmer heads usage. If you are confused look on YouTube for a video on this subject. It won't be under an EGO head, but it will give you an idea of what I'm talking about. I've done this now on two different types of heads with great results. Good Luck.

The exactly correct replacement- easy to install.

Just unscrew bolt, swap assembly and your on your way. This was so simple and am going to order a second to have on hand as as spare. I did not realize that my old trimmer head need replacing, it had some vibration. New head is smooth and like new. In addition, I started using ego string. Huge difference, cuts cleaner and longer than what I am currently using and it's pretty good. I am switching to ego string

I've found Powerload and LineIQ to be some of the worst features Ego has come out with. I've been using their products for 8 years (leaf blowers, chain saws, lawn mowers, older versions of string trimmers, etc) and am *incredibly* happy with them all, except the new string trimmer with these features. LineIQ takes forever to figure out there's barely 1" of string left, and in the meantime I'm left barely getting anything done until it decides it's time to push out more string. The powerload has been a nightmare. Got the first head to work a couple of times with a lot of trying, then the line just stopped catching. I played around with it and tried it a million different ways, nothing worked, so I ordered a new head. The new one was just as finicky. Have only managed to get it to load twice in a few months, and not for lack of trying. It spins and clicks and spins and clicks but never catches. Have watched every single "how to fix powerload" video, tried four different kinds of string as well, nothing works. I'm going to go back to the manual load, it was SO much easier and reliable. I would avoid LineIQ and Powerload at all costs, I now own a very expensive useless product.

The listing is kind of confusing, but if you are using the trimmer with the intelli-sense auto feed, this is the correct head for their unit. I made the mistake of buying the wrong one before. Overall, it is official product and works great, I just wish it was more durable, because I go though a new one each year when the thin cap gets ground down.
