DEWALT Laser Distance Measurer 50M DW03050

This LDM (DW03050) is the one with the colour screen, why Dewalt didn’t make 2 different codes for the 2 versions (colour and not colour) is beyond me.The LDM worked very well out of the box. I did read reviews that stated it was not accurate, one of the settings gives an offset and I wondered if this was the cause. I have not had a problem and the device measures the same as a decent tape measure. I have used the LDM to measure both from the front and rear of the device with accurate readings. The ability to calculate square & cubic volume saves time having to use a calculator. I did try the “Pythagoras” setting and it worked but not used for a real job yet. Wish I had bought one of these before, it saves time and I can easily measure up on my own without the need for a tape measure with a long range or an apprentice.The Dewalt tool connect app is ok but limiting, it needs to store more readings and have a visual display like a basic room planner / CAD layout. I end up just writing down the readings on a sketch.Lot of money but hope in the long term (if it can cope on site) it will pay for its self and it’s very handy.

Very happy with it. Very impressive little device and measures it with consistency and accuracy. Easy to learn and use. Easy to measur in sq meter / ft and interchange the result

fab piece of kit that seems exceptionally accurate so far. Wish I'd got one years ago. Not got into the DVD yet, so only found out the basics so far, but can't wait.

I previously used a BOSCH GLM 150 Professional, which died in active service (2013-2023) *RIP*I decided to add the dewalt 50M distance measure to my dewalt armoury after some research and price comparison. This tool is a handy, compact, attractive, functional & sturdy looking item.With practice, I am better at navigating the measurement modes (still needs to be eased).The digital inclinator & levelling are good additions.So far, the tool-connect app is useful & FUNtastic.I feared that the endpiece might break because of the force of the spring, but I'm getting a hang of this.The battery seems to drain fast when using Bluetooth; even at 50% screen brightness.After one year usage I conclude that BOSCH IS BETTER - USER FRIENDLY in the aspect of digtal distance measure

Easy to use out of the box!

Bought a cheaper make and it didnt work well at all. This is incredibly accurate and easy to use. Excellent set out a 1600 sq meter wooden building with two floors movement from one end to the other 3 mm so very pleased indeed. Well worth the money has saved hours of time.

Handy measure tool

Bought it a little over three years ago. Its been in a pocket in my trousers most of that time so arguably recieving knocks etc but ud think it was brand new to look at. Seems to be crashing now as I get no response from screen to buttons even though the laser is firing. Very disappointing. There was a previous less technical version of this that had lasted me years. I had bought this more sophisticated one as the much cheaper one failed quickly. Very disappointed as most dewalt is pretty good but now their laser measures these days. Thankfully I'm not stuck with them on this one with battery compatability. Does my nut in how things seem designed to fail so we keep buying.
