Great grips-official product-sleek look
My son loves these replacement controllers. Great grips on the back and a nice, sleek look to them. We would purchase them again.

Good, but far from great…
I was quite surprised to find these initially. If I’m being honest, I bought them from a brick and mortar store and came here for the technical specifications I guess. They’re priced pretty well, considering regular joy cons are another like $40 bucks new. But I had a feeling it was too good to be true. Aftermarket ergonomic joy cons with turbo mode AND assignable buttons, for legit HALF the price… Make no mistake, if you tend to play on the go more so than on the dock, they’re worth having for the relatively small price tag. BUT! I was right, it was too good to be true in a way. The biggest downsides are made obvious if you do any amount of reading into the product here on Amazon, but on the box itself, nor in the instruction manual, does it tell you that these joycons dont have the capacity for vibration and use with amiibo things or whatever. All the bells and whistles that the originals come with. They are very simply meant to be connected to the switch and left there indefinitely. And only if you don’t mind not having the vibrations that EVERY controller has had for the past 15 years. lol. It’s honestly not that big a deal in 99.9% of games, but still. There’s always that one game that uses controller vibration to indicate some otherwise unnoticeable clue or something nutty. Yah know? On top of that, even here on Amazon it’s sort of ambiguous about the fact these don’t function AT ALL when removed from the switch screen part. It says it can’t be used with motionplay or whatever, some proprietary word they use to describe that feature, but to me that says I can’t swing it around to play Wii tennis, or use it as a lightsaber… Not that I can’t even push the A button. So unless they make like a powered joycon controller dock deal, similar to the one the Switch ships with for its actual joycons, you can’t use them when the switch is docked or leaned up on its little stand deal AT ALL. They’re super light, so it makes sense that there’s no internal battery powering them to keep them on when you disconnect them. But still, it annoyed me that the package didn’t contain any of that information in the slightest. And then even the Amazon info seemed sliiiightly misleading in that “fine print” sort of way… Hah. Never the less, beyond that, they’re great at what they’re made for so far. Much more comfortable ergonomically, obviously. But there’s a slight downside to even that. Without question, these were intentionally designed with the express purpose of remaining on your switch and just using your original joycons in the controller dock deal from now on or something, right? Stand to reason in my head at least. Well as you can see from my attached photos, since these joycons are so much more ergonomic and comfortable, they take up like twice the space. So if you already own a portable carrying case for your switch, it’s not going to fit anymore… hah. So if you play it on the go, and “on the go” means “in your bed while your girlfriend or kid watches tv,” then you’re set! lol. Which for me, it actually does, so whatever. But I doubt most people bought the dockable version to never use it like I did, so honestly, these probably aren’t for you. But for my needs, and what I paid for them, I honestly can’t complain at all. I just wish this all would have been made plain to me from the outset, I’d still have paid the $35 bucks or whatever all things considered. But it feels slightly dishonest not disclosing all that pretty boldly considering. Like I said, I doubt most people are going to want to buy joy cons that they can only use undocked, but also won’t fit in any travel case except the one Hori makes specifically for these larger joy cons. Seems if your gonna pay $35 for the joy cons, and another $25 of $30 for the new carrying case you need now, you’re kinda just better off buying a new legit pair instead. Crappy thing is, the way these are branded they look like a legit Nintendo product from the box. Hori is legit barely on the box, to the point you have to actively look for it. Without much study, you’d believe they were maybe a budget option Nintendo itself released.

Great feel!
These bad boys feel SO much better than stock joycons. Especially for FPS games.

Wrong color
I just recieved them today. They even came early. However the desc. says it's light gray and yellow. But it is definitely white and yellow. I wouldn't have gotten it if it said white, it's the worst to keep clean. The box also says light gray and yellow.

The light was stuck on assign and would not go off.
Seemed like a nice controller but the assign button would not switch off, was defective. Not sure if others have experienced this but we did. If it worked as intended we’d have kept it but we had to return because of it not working properly.

Drifted in 1 month.
Left stick started drifting upwards after only one month, despite no misuse whatsoever. Completely clean and damage-free. I bought this product partly to AVOID drift, so this is really disappointing. It also has no gyro or vibration, and the right stick and buttons never felt comfortable for me. I also don't care for the Dpad, which is pretty stiff. How they're selling this cheap junk for $50 is beyond me.
