Absolutely the best oil you can buy for a classic air-cooled VW and Porsche motor
Have been using this VR1 on High Performance and Stock Aircooled VW and Porsche engines for years.. we did back to back testing of other typical brand oils on a circuit race 1969 air-cooled beetle and saw instant benefits over the competitors... other oils when hot would see our oil light come occasionally on overrun.. never with VR1.. also the oil temperature ran several degrees cooler than when using a typical high quality competitors oil. I never use anything other than VR1 in stock and performance air-cooled engines - it might be a few quid more expensive but its the blood of the engine and is worth every penny..

Works well for my old V8. Not a racing engine but it's the right old for this engine and its use.
Expensive, but it's your engine's life fluid, so worth it for me. My 19 year old Rover 4.0 V8 push rod engine design is better suited to this type of oil with zinc additive, and as long as I change it annually or <5000 miles then it will look after the wear in the engine for many years to come.

Better for your Rover V8
If you have a Rover V8 this is the oil for you. Ignore the advice of manufacturers such as Land Rover (for the Range Rover and disco). This stuff works and I have had several engine builders agree. It has all the right stuff in it for pushrod engine types. Service interval is lowered 3-5 k miles but if you care about your engine then I would give this stuff a go.

If your engine happens to like 20w50 engine oil. Then this is that oil
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Except it's not a tin. It's a big plastic bottle with a handle and a spout. So I guess it does exactly what it says on the big plastic bottle with a handle and a spout. My old BMW r1100 GS loves this stuff, but then again, she would.
