Metallica: Ride the Lightning Paperback – 1 Jan. 2001

Excellent edition. Good clear and concise. Easy to use. A fun way for beginners to start learning how to play advanced music. This was a present for my son who is just learning to play guitar. The tab is well explained with the music simple to follow.

Very good guitar transcription of ride the lightning. i find it very accurate. Much better than the tabs you can find online for free.

It may seem petty and wouldn't bother many people but with this being the last of the metallica album books I purchased, all of which previously have spines, to find this one doesn't so can't be identifiable when piled with the others is disappointing to me...especially at this price it feels like a cheaper version than other Hal Leonard books.Personal preference but personally disappointed!

I feel there is missing tabs for creeping death and for whom the bell tolls? Really should have done sheet music separate to tabs because the whole thing feels muddled. Also, for whom the bell tolls the tabs don’t seem correct...could be wrong but I’ve been listening to Metallica for +20 years.

Hmm, whoever did this transcription seemed a little half as*ed doing this compared to the enthusiastically done Kill Em 'All tablature book, the text is kind of squashed and gets muddled at times, but most importantly though is that some of the riffs do not sound right and do not give you the right 'feel' if you are a person who has listened to Metallica at nauseum and know all their music off by heart, you don't really have to be a virtuoso to know the 'feel'. This guy seems more like a Rocker than a Metal head and should of stuck to transcribing bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers instead of heavy duty bands like Metallica with complex heavy speed metal rhythms.If only as much enthusiasm and effort went into every song on this transcription from this amazing album as it obviously went into the last song Call Of Cthulhu tab. Shame. Use this book as a 30% reference, use your ears and Metallica's music for the other 70%, you could probably do a better job then this bored geezer.

Bought as a gift so can't really comment on the musical aspect, but certainly a good quality to give/receive as a gift.
