The G-Shock GWG-1000-1A3 is a beast of a watch but over time the band , while wearing the buckle in the same spot, despite the clasp being a double-tang style clasp, will eventually start to give out. I don't fault the band, it has been been some rough use over the years. I wanted to go with the genuine replacement band not some knock off. Now it was not cheap but this is not a cheap watch so you should expect to pay more for it. I expect about the same life out of this band. It was not very difficult to install you just need a small allen bit and a driver and some small pliers as there are two components that hod the band in place. The allen screws and then a couple of small pins that align the band after install. Pay attention to how the black pieces that go over your wrist are aligned, there are small recesses that go over the smaller pins upon reassembly. Once you get it all lined up it was a very easy install. There was a good bit of gunk on the old band so don't be surprised by that when you swap it out. Overall this is a great factory replacement band, but it with confidence.
