Commercial Storefront Door Mortise Lock - Double Cylinder Deadbolt Lock, 1-1/8" Backset, Zinc Alloy, Anti-Theft

Put the lock on the door and it works but I tried to get replacement keys . Since we have a business and multiple people need keysand we cannot get anymore anywhere here , messaged the company no answer , looks like now I have to replace the lock cylinders its like im paying 2 timesTexted company no answer

I had a mortise lock I lost the key and needed to replace (first time). Most of the popular ones listed from my search didn’t provide full measurements for me to feel comfortable they would fit. The size details and quick shipment is what I liked about this one.The downside was it didn’t come with any instructions and the key is not the normal type that I doubt can be copied. But at least it’s the lock requires a key to unlock from either side which is what I needed for my outdoor gate. Another downside for me was the flathead screws it came with to hold the lock body into my gate were too small so I had to dig through my own supply of spare screws to find the right size for the holes of my gate they would hold the lock into.Installing without instructions made what seemed not too complicated ended up being difficult and time consuming to figure out. I was about to give up and return until enough time I figured out that to make the lock function was to make sure the circular parts that turn to tighten into the latch body on both sides needed to be turned just enough to close the gaps on both sides, but not turn too far or else those parts block the internal latch mechanism from moving. Also the orientation of those circular parts as they’re turned to tighten need to have the key slot smaller circle portion within it end up in the 6 o’clock or bottom position. The small allen screws when tightened should go into the aligned slots in those circular parts that will then secure them in that position. It’s that orientation and not overly tightening that will work out to assemble the and allow the lock to function properly.In the end it worked out and looks nicer than the previous lock. Hopefully holds up well outdoors. Just have to make sure I don’t lose any of the 3 keys it comes with since I’m unable to have anymore copies made with that style of key.

Turns out with this piece you need the key to lock/unlock from both sides, the old piece that I replaced had a manual turning knob for the inside part of the door, somewhat inconvenient.
