Pleasantly Surprised
When you first turn this on, check the date and time. I couldn't log in to our WIFI until I correctly set both. With poor vision, I found it very difficult to read the tiny manual printed in a trendy, very pale font. A pdf is available for download and is very easy to follow. It would be helpful if a reminder to check date and time and the link to download the manual was offered in a legible, black font at the beginning of the manual.I've been a loyal Agptek mp3 user since my vision started failing about 10 years ago. In recent years, I've had 3 "in service" at any time to cover all of my spoken word and music needs. Recently (Nov 2024) almost all US libraries discontinued downloadable audio books converting to an app that delivers the book to your mobile device.I read all reviews here and ordered with a little trepidation. Once I got past the date and time issue, the setup was quick and straightforward - not unlike an Android phone. Books play beautifully although I haven't completely adapted to the media player apps installed and probably should research other options. When you are a "seasoned citizen", that sort of change is painful. I'm sure, however, I will quickly embrace the wide spectrum that wifi in my pocket offers.I don't have a feel for battery life yet but the library app, Libby, allows you to download the entire book in a proprietary format and use the device with WIFI turned off. There is no airplane mode.

If you love music, you'll love this!
I love this little MP3 player. I've bought several players over the years, going all the way back to the original iPod, and this one is by far my favorite. Yes, it's true: It's like a little tablet. If you know how to use a tablet, you'll be right at home. What I like most is that, yes, it's like a tablet--it can run apps like Spotify and other music services. Sometimes I want to listen to my MP3s but there are many other times when I just want to turn on Spotify, and I love having both these options in one device. An added plus is that this device, unlike some others in this space, can update itself, so you don't have to worry about your apps becoming outdated. I recently purchased a much more expensive player and while it's very solid and top notch, the screen is so small that I can't read it without putting on my reading glasses. I don't have that problem with this player. It's also a touch screen so buttons are minimal -- and thank goodness. I was playing with my old iPod the other day and became really annoying with all the button pushing and clicking and wheel-turning. One really nice feature of this device is the Equalizer. It has about a dozen preset options and you can also modify at will. You can do things like look at Facebook, if you want, but for me, this device is about listening to my MP3s and music services. I've had no problem using this device -- didn't even need to read the manual. The Bluetooth works just fine as does everything else. Consider me very satisfied!

I am Pleasantly Surprised by This MP3 Player!
For 80 bucks, I wasn't expecting much from this player. I got it as a back up, because it seems mp3 players are becoming a thing of the past. This is well worth the money though. It's got a basic camera and a whole bunch of apps, but I don't care about any of that junk. I moved them off the home screen immediately or just deleted them. It has a lock screen feature, but you can turn that off (Thank Satan). It transfers music very quickly using MediaGo. And when you disconnect, you don't have to wait for the library to update. Everything is instantly there and ready to play. Kind of amazed by that. Hopefully that continues to be a thing after 140 gigs of music, but I wouldn't fault it if it got a little slower.I love that this came with 16G internal memory, and can take a card to hold more (currently have a 128G card in there). The library is nice looking and easy to use. Only weird thing is that if you click on an artist, and view all their albums, they remain open even if you go to another artist. So you have to make sure you close each one individually. Minor complaint, but most players aren't like that.I also wish there were more physical buttons than just power and volume. Being able to pause and skip songs with a side button would really bump up my score for this. Also, every single time I start it up, it is set to repeat the album no matter how many times I change it. Another minor complaint. The battery life could be better. And I have to turn the brightness all the way because if not it's kind of dull, especially outdoors or in the car. Obviously that helps kill the battery quicker. All that said, it's still easy to use, fast, and pretty nice looking. Touch screen works great as well as blue tooth connection. Seems like it will be able to hold a lot of music with no problem. It's almost comparable to players double or triple the price.

Does what I want it to.
I like it. I wanted something to play audible and it does that. Some apps don't work because of the version of Android it has installed on it such as Amazon Music, a few banking apps and Babel. Babel seems to work, but then freezes. The banking apps won't even open up. There are also a couple of funny glitches such as if I try to add a widget then the launcher crashes and resets. The battery lasts a couple of hours. If you're looking for a miniature tablet that you can hold in your hand and slide into your pocket for audible books and to listen to your music library then this is perfect.
