A tiny, cheap, fairly good full-frame 35mm f/1.4
This lens is really small, cheap, and well made, with quite smooth feel to manual focus. This lens is not capable of autofocus nor does it have electronic connection to the camera to automatically control the aperture setting or inform the camera of the focal length and aperture setting. The two photos shown here were taken with the pergear 35mm f/1.4 wide open on my Sony A7RII, and it is difficult to fault either of them. The bokeh are good, flare handling isn't terrible, and there is plenty of resolution across an APS-C crop, but full-frame performance suffers a bit:* Corners wide open are at least 2 stops darker than ideal* There is some field curvature near frame corners wide open* The extreme corners are mush wide open; they sharpen up around f/8The second shot probably looks a little better than the first because I used Sony's Lens Compensation app in the A7RII to correct with +14 peripheral shading, +1 blue color, and -3 distortion. In both cases, I manually set the A7RII focal length to 35mm so IBIS (in body image stabilization) can compensate for any shake.Bottom line: it's not my favorite lens, but it is very useful, tiny, and pleasant to use, so I bring and use it a lot. It is OK for landscapes when stopped down, but really shines when used wide open to show the bokeh in environmental portraits and close-up shots. Although various old 35mm lenses are sharper, they tend to be slower and most produce poorer bokeh. This lens is an unbeatably good new optic for the price...

Very well built bright lens
The lens is very well made. It feels like an old lens they made back in the day. It reminded me of the lens my dad had on his Minolta. (2nd pic) So is the lens sharp? I would say that it is very good but not like my Sony lens. It's also 1/9 of the cost. You buy a lens like this for the fast 1.4 knowing it's a completely manual lens. If you have never used a manual lens well it will bring out the creative side of your photography, So take out your prime and turn off the auto, and see how you like it. Anyway, so far this is a fun bright lens when I want to get creative.

Landscape and architectural?
This is the lens for non moving subjects such as architectural and landscapes, even portraits. After buying a Sony A7RIV the budget got tight and this was my go to lens as my first lens for the camera, great lens all around.

Pleasant surprise
I was looking for compact prime lens in 35mm range to complement Canon 50mm f1.8 LTM lens on my Sony a7RII. This Pergear 35mm f1.4 lens looked interesting, though price hinted on possible surprise. And surprise I got. Initial tests have shown that center looked good, but edges were so-so put it mildly and flare was present. After couple days of trials I have done something what I normally do not do with new lenses - I thoroughly cleaned front and rear elements. This simple step moved very problematic lens into category of very good lenses.Colors are superb, rendering is sublime and sharpness is excellent. Yes, there is vignetting even at f2.8, but at f4.0 it becomes non-existent in practical terms. Short of photographing blue sky or brick wall even f2.8 can be acceptable. Established photo grands would rate this lens at f2.8 or even f3.5 and that would be great lens. Pergear opted for marketing step and rated it at f1.4. I recommend consider it as truly excellent f3.5 lens. I would say that it has character and rendering matching my Canon 50mm lens. Lens housing is metal, focusing ring moves smoothly, but tightly enough and aperture ring produces soft but distinct clicks. Coating helps to get a great contrast and colors. I am very happy with my "surprise".About my initial experience. Was it my fault or somebody improperly touched lens during S&H process I will never know, but I wanted to share this funny experience. And also, lens and packaging have some cute misspelling errors - MUTI COATED vs MULTI COATED (that is right on the lens) and Sliver vs Silver (on the lens box). I guess this reflects size of Pergear as a company, but they managed to manufacture excellent lens. Go figure. I would recommend to give it a try, especially at that price level.

Super compact 35 mm full frame lens
This lens is a full frame manual focus lens. It comes with a nice lens pouch, hood, front and rear lens cap. It can mount a 43 mm filter. The lens is compact, light weight and sharp. It has aperture in the range of f1.4 to f16. At f1.4 it can take sharp pictures with wide open aperture. This lens is very useful for the portrait and landscape photography. The lens has metallic body which makes it durable. The light weight of the lens makes it easy to carry. The focus ring moves smoothly and helps quickly focus on the subject.Overall, this lens is a sharp and lightweight prime lens. The lens is a great attractive option for the given price.

Encantado

Good price versus quality
Small size and almost perfect image quality from f4 to f8.

A very nice lens.
I use this lens on a "Full Frame" Sony camera. I have modern lenses and film era ones too but I fancied some new cheap manual lenses just for fun and this was one of the lenses I bought and I'm impressed. The build quality seem to be good with no mechanical sloppiness and the aperture and focus rings are nice to use but the focus does go beyond infinity and that is a little disappointing but this is how many lenses are and although it's a gripe of mine I don't regret buying the lens because of this. At f1.4 it's a little soft but still perfectly useable depending on how fussy you are and resistance to flare seems to be good as I haven't used the hood so far and haven't noticed any issues. Some may not like the bokeh and might be disappointed by performance at f1.4 but I really don't know how much better we can expect in such a small and cheap lens. A review I read highlighted field curvature but in many real world non test situations this possibly wont be an issue depending on how picky you are.The close focusing ability is quite good and I have some 67mm close up filters so I bought a step up ring so that I could use them with this lens and they seem to work well together.I think this lens is very good value and very good quality for the money. I wish they did a similar 50mm f1.4. I do also have the TTartisan 50mm f2 which is a very cheap lens but this Pergear is in my opinion the better lens. All in all, I'm very happy.
