Myth of Sisyphus and Other Essays Paperback – 1 January 2022

Excellent!

A masterpiece. It is not easy to read or digest, but it has profound meaning. Takes time to digest.

This is a review for this particular edition of the book, not its content. Myth of Sisyphus and Other Essays by Grapevine Publishers includes Myth of Sisyphus and 5 other essays by Albert Camus. I bought the book without knowing which other essays would be included. I couldn't find the information anywhere.The 5 other essays included are - Summer in Algiers, The Minotaur or the Stop in Oran, Helen's Exile, Return to Tipasa, and The Artist and His Time. These are the same essays included in the Penguin Modern Classics edition (ISBN-13 : ‎978-0141182001). The translation is also the same as in the Penguin (by Justin O' Brian). What's missing is the Introduction and the notes (which are included on the pages in the Penguin edition). The formatting isn't that great in the Grapevine edition and the spacing is a little congested. The Grapevine edition is cheaper.So overall, if one doesn't mind the non-inclusion of the introduction and notes, this is a good alternative to the Penguin Modern Classics version. And also to the Penguin Great Ideas ideas edition (ISBN-13 : ‎978-0141023991), which is cheaper than the Modern Classics version and only includes the Myth of Sisyphus and notes, but doesn't include the introduction or the other essays.

I am no one to say any review on it. It is among the best classics.. Amazing page quality and ofcourse best handing and packaging by Amazon.. Total 5 STARRR..

The content of a book itself is sought after by students. But the book itself should kindle some kind of appreciation. This version fails to achieve that.The Cover Page and binding is passable, albeit costly for Rs. 242The text is readable but not arranged properly. It is not a delight for the eyes to see huge paragraphs crammed into one pageThere are several spelling mistakes. It can be overlooked but it does depreciate the book.Over all, my recommendation is to buy the book if you are a studentIf you are a connoisseur then certainly, there are other options

Its a philosophical gem

The media could not be loaded. The cover says "Albert Camus " as the writer , but in the front page it has" Carson McCullers " as the author. No content page, no proper introduction or preface. A scam being sold by Grapevine India.Albert Camus is a great author and philosopher, it is sad to see these dubious practices being practiced in his name. No option for refund either. :(
