I've eaten an awful lot of wheat germ over the years because of its well-known healthful attributes. It is an excellent source of thiamin and a good source of folate, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc. It is also an excellent source of vegetable proteins, along with fiber and healthy fats. Wheat germ - pound for pound - is one of the most nutritious foods you can find anywhere.It does have a significant downside, however. Wheat germ is high in oxalates, so if you're prone to developing oxalate kidney stones (as I am), wheat germ can be something of a risk to eat. I have to be careful with what I eat, so I'm trying these wheat germ oil capsules hoping that the oil distillation results in lower oxalate levels. I'm still investigating this issue and I don't have a definitive answer as yet.Be aware that this bottle does not have a seal over its contents so be careful when opening it in order to prevent a shower of wheat germ oil capsules. The capsules are fairly large but relatively easy to swallow. There is no discernable taste and there were no stomach issues.

The bottle of wheat germ oil arrived today and I was shocked--there was no sealed safety seal on the bottle, the shiny seal was cut just below the cap and it opened easily and there was no inner paper or foil seal inside the bottle. No cotton padding or anything. I tried to set it up as an exchange on Amazon, but that option wasn't given, neither was a refund. Just contact the manufacturer. So I found their phone number printed at the bottom of the bottle. However, I tried calling 3 times and all 3 calls were immediately cancelled.Then I counted the soft gels and found 183 in the bottle, instead of the stated 180. I think this bottle has been tampered with and what is my recourse?

I have been taking wheat germ for over a decade with good results. Wheat germ has vitamin E which is good for the skin and has other benefits. The softgels are easy to swallow and I don't get any after taste. It has 180 softgels which at 3 per day, is about 2 months' worth. I will usually take 2 per day (breakfast and dinner) on no-workout days, and 3 (with breakfast, lunch and dinner) on days I weight lift. I will also cycle the supplement usually taking it for 6 weeks on - 2 weeks off so it lasts for quite a while.

This pill set comes in a large container with equally large pills. Being a great source of Vitamin E and known as a antioxidant, wheat germ is a very beneficial supplement for the body, particularly when it is made with quality ingredients such as this product.The pill is on the large size so I HIGHLY recommend you have liquid on hand when taking this pill. There is a very light smell that reminds me of vegetable oil but it is not unpleasant.After taking the pill there were no issues with indigestion or intestinal discomfort.It is working for me and I am sure it can help you with improving aspects of your health.
