Replacement for a very shredded scratching post, easy to fit, the cats are so happy!

I honestly bought this as I thought the price of replacement scratcher posts were very high and this was the cheapest I could find. My previous one didn’t last long and it was quite expensive however the rope is quite thin on this one too so I can’t see it lasting more than a couple of months. It’s good for just now but I think the cost should be lowered to reflect the longevity of the item

I liked this post, thicker than I expected and it seems very well made and includes 2 x hex bolts and a joining bolt - if you are replacing a post in a structure. The post has bolt threads on both ends.Impressed, and mousebreath even more so, she loves it and scratches it twice as much as the old one!

Perfect for my cats

Perfect for my cat, her tree scratch posts looked like they had been electrocuted and her greeting like many cats is to go to her tree stretch and scratch. Without a post she was threatening to have a go on the sofa so we needed a replacement. Enter this product. Was sceptical at first but I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered to restring her post.The post arrived with two helpful universal fittings which meant I could easily fit the post into the existing set up without much faff. The little screws they provide are double ended so if your post previously had a screw end, you can add this with the fitting.It's a lot wider than the previous post was, but still fit in the tree. The cats chuffed and the sofa is safe, winning all round.

These posts are a bit hit and miss as quality inconsistent. I buy these as attractive price, however my 2 cats can destroy them as early as 12 weeks or can last up to a year. It all depends on the glue that holds the sisal covering the whole post. I have in the past had to re-glue the rope back on where its not been there. If not the cats find that weakness and can rip the sisal off and unravel in a matter of weeks. If your cats are strong beware, the post may not last as long as you think! Overall the cats love them but don't expect them to last hence 3 stars.

Arrive quickly and well packaged. We had another as a replacement post and this was just in a clear plastic bag. I love now we can get a new post only instead of needing to replace the whole scratching post with base. The post has a thread both ends allowing us to turn it over when the cats have destroyed one area of the post. Rather than just replace it. Very sturdy post and the rope is tight together the last post lasted well over a year. We have two outdoor cats both under 4.5kgs who use it all the time. Only scratching post in house. It did come with a screw but just used an Allen key (not supplied) to change the old to the new. Took me under 1 minute. Recommended and we will buy again ☺️ for our furr babies.
