I learned on a standard rubics cube but found those to be stiff and I had heard about speed cubes and wanted to try one out. I settled on this one based on some internet recommendations. I am very pleased with how it performs, it is quick and slick and the magnets help to keep it squared after each move. It may take a few rounds before you become accustomed to the feel but overall I found myself enjoying it much more and not getting frustrated like I would with the old stiff one getting stuck. This one pretty much doubled the speed at which I can solve a cube after only a day of playing with it.

Pros:-excellent features and performance for the price-edge-to-corner magnets feel good-maglev upgrade kits available-popularity means tweaking knowledge is availableCons:-you will suddenly want to spend money on speed-cubing accessories: lubes, timers, expensive flagship cubes, 4x4x4s and other puzzles, WCA competition entrance fees, plane tickets to world championships, etc-some high-end features absent (core magnets, center travel tool-less adjustment)-matte surface finish; may wear out to a glossier finish over time, but that transformation is uncontrollableBottom line: this is a very popular speed-cube, for a reason. There may be better cubes, but those are more expensive, or haven’t been invented at the time of writing.
