These are great for a snack or light lunch and especially with your favorite salsa. They do not contain a lot of meat which I prefer.

The tamales taste good and The quality is fine. The reason for the low review is for the packing department. The quantity is sold a a box of 12. I was shipped tamale. It’s a hassle to have to call and try to get a refund. This is the second time this has happened to me but with another product from Amazon. You buy a case of 1 and they give you 1 item out of the case.

First this really is a unique product. I haven't seen microwave shelf stable individual tamales ever before. So these even existing and tasting okay is a HUGE plus!The convenience factor is off the chart, you can stick it in a drawer or a lunchbox days ahead and it's still okay.By themselves, the amount of pork is quite small, and the flavor profile is pretty narrow. Mostly like canned green salsa (which I like), and steamed corn. As a side dish with beans, or chili, or with added cheese it's pretty good.I particularly like tamales with cheese, so I took it out of the package, and microwaved a pile of shredded mex blend over it with a little water to overcome the starch coating on the cheese. I think with a couple string cheeses it would be great, and still portable.As for kids... none of my children particularly like them, but they didn't grow up eating a lot of tamales. They prefer tortillas, or tortilla chips, or rice with their beans/chili.

Just as good as walking tamales but much more affordable!

First, the fact that you don't have to refrigerate these is strange. It is because there is no traditional filling. The tamale looks like a slab of beige mystery food. The consistency is not that of a tamale but more like soft, moist, mush. Since there is no filling, the flavor is embedded in the mush. Surprisingly, I did taste fibers of pork and the flavor is better than I expected when I saw what came out of the package you microwave it in. If you don't have a refrigerator, this is actually a solid option that doesn't taste bad and I am assuming has some nutritional value. If you were looking for a product wrapped in a corn husk, with a flavorful corn masa and meat filling, this is not it. Calling this a tamale is a stretch. But I can't say it tastes terrible. I will never buy again.

I did get all 12. They do contain tiny slivers of pork, but what do you expect for this price? If they added meat the price might be too high for their customer base.I will definitely try adding guacamole, cheese and beans.These definitely are tamales despite what some reviewers have written.Update: I cooked them in my air fryer for 10 minutes with cheddar & white onions. They were really good.

Product listing states this is a PACK OF 12.I only received a SINGLE TAMALE in a white envelope and got charged for the entire 12-Pack. This is false advertising.
