Versatile; solid; excellent.
Sounds great straight out of the box. Simple to use and versatile. Solid build. Excellent value for money but nothing cheap about it.

An Incredibly Versatile Pedal
The MXR Superbadass Distortion is worthy of its name. After A/B'ing it with several other drive pedals I use (Marshall Shredmaster, Boss DS1 Keeley Modded, Boss BD2 Waza), it comes out on top as the most flexible and diverse drive pedal for those specific British style crunch tones.I am running in through both a Friedman Dirty Shirley and a Line 6 Spider V120 (haters gonna hate), and it sounds fantastic across the valve/digital/solid-state spectrum. I adore British style over-driven amp tones, as this seems to do really well in helping me push an already crunched amplifier into the next stage for heavy riffing and solos. While it is definitely not tight enough for metal, there is plenty of gain on tap to play from blues to hard-rock styles quite fluently. Learning to operate the 3 band EQ is essential, as you will want to either thicken or thin the sound out for the respective tone you are going for. Less bass with more mids and treble serves for a great Tube Screamer style boost pedal, while slightly scooping the mids with more bass and treble had a great blues-overdrive sound quite similar to my Boss BD2 Waza (but even smoother). Honestly, I was surprised at how good the low-gain sounds were out of this pedal!Overall, an excellent pedal for the price. Compared to many other "Boutique" offerings that come in over £150 - £200, the MXR Superbadass Distortion is definitely worth your time and money.

Great sounding pedal
Sounds great; has a lot of gain. Like most high-gain MXR distortions I've tried, there's a little bit of a metallic edge to the sound, but it has a highly versatile EQ to deal with this.

Decent affordable pedal
Got this as an affordable distortion alternative to my existing Boss pedal. It has a nice tone and is very crunchy. Only issue is the output is quite low with the effect off. This can be tweaked but would be awkward playing live. Combined nicely with my wah pedal. Good value overall

Chugs nicely
I’ve tried a few distortion pedals. This one has a natural sounding and powerful chug, like it. It’s versatile too so should be ok for various tastes. This one’s a keeper.

Best Pound for pound distortion pedal you can buy
It’s Eq is great and I’ve used it just for this to be honest as a boost and then stacked it with a Klon type pedal.Distortion starts with an overdrive to full on bad ass, lots of options. Very underrated pedal, Baroness are big fans!

A Super BadASS!!
"He" is a Super Badass.. Really he is!I have used several distorsion pedals, but this gives me any distorsion I need, from bluesy to crunchy up to long sustained distorsion for long soloing!Any doubts? Give it a try!It seems a little light for its construction, but not a problem, less weight 3 carry!
